This afternoon (May 29), Doan Thi Diem Primary School, Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City held a closing ceremony for the 2024-2025 school year for 4th grade students. The students looked back on the past school year through a vivid video clip. After the student awards ceremony, the students watched a meaningful play called "Immortal Monuments", performed by actors who are students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.
The play depicts a mother sending her daughter off to the front line to fight for national independence. After a while, her daughter’s participation in the revolution was discovered by the enemy, and the enemy came to her house to brutally torture her, but she still did not say where her daughter was. At that moment, the daughter came to visit her mother, and because she could not bear the sight of her mother being tortured, she appeared. Until the last moment, before falling under enemy bullets, she still shouted that the revolution would win, Long live Vietnam, Long live President Ho Chi Minh. The play was touching andeducational about patriotism, making many teachers and students moved to tears.

The closing ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year ended when the big screen in the middle of the school yard also played the song "Mother loves children" by musician Nguyen Van Ty performed by the Elite group. Mr. Tran Trong Khiem, Principal of Doan Thi Diem Primary School, Tan Phu District, sent farewell messages to the teachers and students of grade 4 at the end of the school year: "Thus, our program to accompany grade 4 students in the 2024-2025 school year gradually came to an end. Although the rain became heavier at the end of the ceremony, the atmosphere was still warm because of the care, love and sense of responsibility that the teachers have devoted to their beloved students."
"I hope that every care, every look of attention and every word of encouragement from the teachers today will become a solid stepping stone, adding confidence for the students to confidently enter a new journey in grade 5, with a strong spirit and a desire to continuously learn. I sincerely thank the teachers for always accompanying the school in building a gentle yet profound and meaningful summary program that achieved the expected results. I wish you a happy and fulfilling summer vacation with your family and loved ones, and please don't forget to continue to care, keep in touch and give more motivation to the students throughout this summer," Mr. Khiem sent a message to the teachers and students.

Each block has its own year-end summary session.
Doan Thi Diem Primary School, Tan Phu District currently has 3,500 students, 78 classes, about 1/3 of which are boarding students. With a large number of students, if the year-end summary and graduation ceremony for grade 5 students were organized in just one session, it would be difficult to convey all the meaningful messages to the students. Therefore, from the 2022-2023 school year, the school principal will organize a separate year-end summary session for each grade, with content suitable for the characteristics of each age group, creating conditions for a large number of parents to attend with their children.
On May 26, the year-end ceremony took place for grade 1 students. Then, on May 27, it was for grade 2 students and yesterday, May 28, it was the year-end ceremony for grade 3 students. After the awarding activities, students from each grade watched a play that was elaborately and methodically staged, with actors being students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.

Students in grades 4 and 5 (the year-end ceremony and graduation ceremony for grade 5 will be tomorrow, May 30) will watch the play "Immortal Monuments", while students in grades 1, 2, and 3 will watch the play "Moonlight in Search of Mother". Through the touching journey of the character "Moonlight" in her search for her mother - a metaphorical symbol of lostness and loneliness when losing family ties - the play not only touches emotions but is also a poignant reminder of the sacred value of family. The play conveys a message to children: Stubbornness, disobedience or disrespect towards parents and adults not only makes children distant but also causes them to lose the most precious things in life, which are the love and protection from their family.
Teacher Tran Trong Khiem shared with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter : "I hope that each year-end ceremony is also a useful educational activity. The experiences in the year-end ceremony can become material for students to write essays such as telling or describing an activity they participated in at school. This is in line with the 2018 General Education Program to help promote the capacity and qualities of learners. And above all, the year-end ceremonies will help students have many beautiful memories under this school roof."
