On July 25, the Vietnamese Embassy in Myanmar solemnly held a memorial service and opened a condolence book to commemorate General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong in Yangon, Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, all officials and employees of the Embassy, Vietnamese businesses, the Vietnamese community, organizations and individual citizens visited, took a minute to remember, signed the condolence book, and expressed their sincere feelings and infinite sorrow at the passing of the General Secretary.
Ambassador Ly Quoc Tuan, on behalf of all officials and Party members of the Vietnamese Embassy in Myanmar, expressed his deep condolences at the passing of the General Secretary, affirming that he will follow the bright example of the General Secretary, continue to unite, work hard, and excellently complete the tasks assigned by the Party, State, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs .
During the two-day funeral, many Ambassadors and Charge d'Affaires of foreign representative agencies in the Diplomatic Corps in Myanmar came to pay their respects, signed the condolence book, expressed admiration for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's important contributions to the development and enhancement of relations with countries, regions, and international organizations, and expressed their condolences at his passing.
Representatives of the local government, political parties, organizations and individuals from Myanmar came to pay their respects, write in the condolence book, and express their respect and appreciation for the great contributions of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to Vietnam.
Previously, on July 19, Chairman of the State Executive Council of Myanmar - Mr. Min Oong Lai sent a letter of condolences to President To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
In his condolence letter to President To Lam, Mr. Min Oong Lai affirmed: "The General Secretary will always be in the hearts of the Vietnamese people for his dedication to serving the development and prosperity of the country and people of Vietnam."
In the condolence letter sent to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, there was a passage that said: "Vietnam has lost an outstanding leader and the General Secretary will always be remembered with respect and admiration by the Vietnamese people."./.
