Torch-lighting ceremony for the 11th Hanoi Sports Festival in 2025 at Ho Chi Minh Museum

On the afternoon of November 13, the fire-requesting ceremony and torch relay for the 11th Hanoi Sports Festival in 2025 were solemnly held at the Ho Chi Minh Museum (Hanoi).

Attending the ceremony, on behalf of Hanoi city, there was comrade Bach Lien Huong, member of the City Party Committee, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports ; representatives of the Congress Organizing Committee and outstanding athletes of Hanoi sports.

At the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the sacred flame was handed over by Dr. Vu Manh Ha, Party Secretary, Director of the Ho Chi Minh Museum to Comrade Bach Lien Huong, City Party Committee Member, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports. Afterwards, the sacred flame was handed over to outstanding athletes of Hanoi sports to light the torch at the Opening Ceremony of the Congress to be held on November 28 at the Hanoi Athletics Palace.

The sacred flame is lit from a traditional torch - a symbol of will, sportsmanship and national unity strength, preserved by the Ho Chi Minh Museum for the past 30 years. This flame originated from the source of the revolution, was brought to Hanoi and offered to President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 1995). Since then, the Ho Chi Minh Museum has been honored to be the place to preserve and pass on the sacred flame in sports festivals and many important events of the country.

The 11th Capital Sports Congress in 2025 is the largest event ever, held at two levels from November to December 2025 with 25 competitions. The Congress is a key activity to promote the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" and promote the movement "Sports for everyone". This is not only a great festival of the Capital's sports movement, but also a festival of great solidarity, contributing to building a cultured - civilized - modern - developed capital Hanoi.
