Hanoi University of Science and Technology has just announced the latest information about the 2025 Thinking Assessment (TSA) exam. Accordingly, the TSA exam is expected to be held in 3 rounds on weekends, each round will have 3-4 test teams at 30 test locations.
In addition to the previous test sites, the school will open a new test site to support students in the Northwestern provinces (test site in Lao Cai province). The test can accommodate about 75,000 test takers. Specific information on the test sessions is as follows:
Phase 1: Exam date January 18-19, 2025; Registration date December 1-6, 2024
Phase 2: Exam date 8-9/3/2025; Registration date 1-6/2/2025
Phase 3: Exam date April 26-27, 2025; Registration date April 1-6, 2025

To comply with the new general education program of the Ministry of Education and Training , from 2023, the content and format of the TSA exam have been implemented according to the design and will remain stable for many years to come.
Detailed structure of the thinking assessment test of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
Accordingly, the TSA test consists of 3 parts: Mathematical Thinking (60 minutes), Reading Comprehension (30 minutes) and Scientific Thinking/Problem Solving (60 minutes). These are 3 independent parts, the test questions will focus on assessing the thinking ability of the candidate in each part, not directly testing the knowledge of any subject.
The test will be in the form of multiple choice tests on computers, and the results will be valid for 2 years for university admission purposes.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology said that many modern testing technologies have been applied to this exam such as technology to build standardized thinking test questions, bridge theory in the exam, technology to grade the exam according to the multi-parameter IRT model, automatic check-in technology according to citizen identification integrated with the personal data management system to identify candidates to take the exam to completely prevent exam fraud and cheating in exams...
In 2024, Hanoi University of Science and Technology organized 6 exam sessions on weekends with 30 exam locations each session in Hanoi and 11 provinces and cities including Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Da Nang; serving nearly 50,000 exams with a total of 21,000 candidates.
The exam results have been used by more than 50 universities for university admissions for the 2024-2025 school year.
