An Giang Provincial Labor Federation gives houses to the poor

On the afternoon of May 29, in Nui To commune (Tri Ton district), An Giang Provincial Labor Federation held a ceremony to present houses to poor households, support funding for repairing dormitories for teachers and union members, and provide scholarships for union members' children. Vice President of An Giang Provincial Labor Federation Nguyen Huu Giang; Secretary of Tri Ton District Party Committee Lam Thanh Si attended.

At the ceremony, the Provincial Labor Federation presented funding to support the repair of collective housing for teachers and union members in An Tuc commune worth 150 million VND from the social fund; presented 2 shelters to poor households in Nui To commune, each worth 50 million VND, supported by the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, An Giang branch.

In addition, the Provincial Federation of Labor also awarded 20 scholarships to children of union members of grassroots unions in Nui To commune with good academic achievements. Of which, primary school students received 1 million VND/scholarship, secondary school students received 1.5 million VND/scholarship and high school students received 2 million VND/scholarship. The total cost was 28 million VND, from the support of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President of the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation Nguyen Huu Giang emphasized that in recent times, along with taking care of the lives, protecting the rights and legitimate interests of workers, the Provincial Labor Federation has always paid attention to social work, especially the work of encouraging learning, encouraging talents, and supporting shelters for workers in difficulty. This is not only material support, but also spiritual sharing, demonstrating the role, responsibility, and companionship of the Trade Union organization, all levels, sectors, enterprises and the whole society, joining hands to take care of union members, cadres, civil servants and workers.
