The plan aims to reduce procedures and paperwork to handle medical procedures related to patient examination and treatment.

Accordingly, the hospitals and medical facilities mentioned above must invest and will be supported in investing to upgrade information technology infrastructure and hospital information management system (HIS) according to the application criteria of the Ministry of Health;

Build a centralized medical image storage, connection and sharing system, providing storage capacity for at least 5 years;

Integrate and interconnect data between hospital information management systems (HIS), laboratory information systems (LIS), electronic medical records (EMR), and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), ensuring operations according to the "no-print, no-film hospital" model.

Along with the implementation of the above systems, hospitals, medical centers, and medical examination and treatment facilities in Khanh Hoa province will handle service procedures for patients.

That is registering for medical examination and treatment online, making follow-up appointments, returning results via the Internet, cutting down on many procedures requiring the presentation of documents related to examination and treatment for patients when coming to hospitals and medical facilities.

The Department of Health will preside over and coordinate with agencies and units to deploy the connection and communication between Khanh Hoa Provincial General Hospital and medical examination and treatment facilities in the province and between the above-mentioned hospitals and medical examination and treatment facilities, as well as with upper-level hospitals to connect electronic health records, electronic medical records, prescriptions, medical examination and re-examination appointments, and hospital transfer records for patients...
