In the typical cold of Dong Van Stone Plateau, under the red flag with a bright yellow star fluttering on the top of Dragon Mountain, the Vietnamese National Anthem resounded majestically. The sacred melodies blended with the wind, spreading through the space of the border mountains and forests, making the atmosphere of the ceremony more solemn, emotional and proud.
Flag raising ceremony at Lung Cu National Flagpole. |
Lung Cu National Flagpole is located at an altitude of nearly 1,500m above sea level (in Lung Cu commune, Dong Van district). This is the geographical northernmost point of our country and has been recognized as a National Historical Relic since 2009. The flagpole is not only a sacred symbol of territorial sovereignty , but also an everlasting testament to the patriotism, indomitable will and aspiration of the Vietnamese people.
A special highlight of the ceremony was the image of officers and soldiers of Lung Cu Border Post in neat uniforms, solemnly performing the flag-raising ceremony. They are the ones who stick to the frontier day and night, overcoming harsh weather and difficult terrain, firmly maintaining each sovereignty milestone. Some people have not celebrated Tet with their families for decades.
Major Nguyen Xuan Giang, Deputy Head of Lung Cu Border Guard Station, said: "The flag-raising ceremony at the National Flagpole is not only a sacred ritual, but also a great source of spiritual encouragement for all officers and soldiers of the unit. This is an opportunity for us to remind each other of our responsibility to protect territorial sovereignty, maintain border security, and at the same time spread love for the Fatherland and the spirit of self-reliance to the people and tourists."
In that sacred atmosphere, many young people from all over the country were lucky to be present in Lung Cu on the great national holiday. Nguyen Hoang Viet (a youth union member from Hanoi ) expressed: "As a young person, I feel extremely lucky to attend the flag-raising ceremony at Lung Cu Flagpole on the historic occasion of April 30. When I see the national flag fluttering in the sky and land of the border, I feel more clearly the sacredness of territorial sovereignty and the sacrifices of previous generations. This is the motivation for me to live more responsibly and contribute more to the country".
The flag raising ceremony on April 30 is a meaningful activity, contributingto educating revolutionary traditions, enhancing patriotism and national pride, especially for the younger generation, tourists and those who set foot on the sacred land of Lung Cu for the first time. At the foot of the flagpole, each person pauses to remember the silent sacrifices of previous generations and is reminded of the responsibility to preserve and promote the fruits of peace today.
