Worry about Song Lam Nghe An

(PLVN) - Song Lam Nghe An needs points to stay in the league as the 2024/25 V.League is nearing its end.

The next 2 matches of round 22 will be held today, May 10. At Vinh Stadium, the team ranked 3rd from the bottom, Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA), will face a strong opponent ranked 2nd on the rankings, Hanoi FC. The nearly double difference in points between the away team and the home team is also a "telling number", reflecting the difference in strength and form between the 2 teams.

While SLNA is still extremely worried about the risk of falling back to the second-to-last position (having to play a relegation play-off) because it is only 1 point ahead of Binh Dinh but has played 1 more match, HN.FC has not given up hope of chasing Nam Dinh when the gap is currently 5 points less and there are 5 matches left.

Both teams are very "thirsty" for points, so there is no doubt about the motivation of both sides. Although they have to play on the opponent's field, Coach Makoto's team will still aim to get 3 points (Hanoi FC won 3-0 in the first leg) to help fans forget the sadness of losing 0-3 to Nam Dinh in the previous round (also the first loss of Hanoi.FC under the leadership of this Japanese coach).

The “Central derby” match between SHB Da Nang (currently at the bottom of the table) and Quy Nhon Binh Dinh (second from last, right above Da Nang) at Tam Ky Stadium received special attention with a completely different nature: A “reverse final”, also the last chance for the Han River team in the rest of the tournament.

If they win, Da Nang will reduce the gap with their opponents to 2 points, opening up hope to escape the position of having to receive a ticket to receive a direct relegation ticket. Of course, the team from the land of Vo also understands the importance of the result of this match: a match in which if they win, they will not only reclaim the "debt" of losing the first leg but also... cut off the opponent (increasing the gap to 8 points), opening up the opportunity to at least decide for themselves the possibility of staying in the league (if they still have to play the play-off).

Even more (possibly surpassing SLNA or Quang Nam who are ranked right above) in the remaining 4 matches. This match is officiated by the main referee, FIFA Referee Thailand Wiwat Jumpaoon.

The two matches on May 9th had a surprise when Hai Phong beat Ho Chi Minh City FC 2-0 right at Thong Nhat Stadium, with 2 late goals from Lucas Vinicius and Ho Minh Di. Meanwhile, Hong Linh Ha Tinh still held Cong An Ha Noi to a 0-0 draw at Hang Day Stadium.
