After 2 years of organization, Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) returns with expanded scale and quality, bringing filmmakers and cinema lovers the opportunity to experience and explore interesting projects not only in the country but also in Asian countries. According to the organizers, the total number of films selected for the programs is 100, a significant increase compared to the previous 2 festivals. In addition, many interesting activities such as exhibitions, training programs for young film talents... are also implemented during the 7 days of DANAFF III.
In the costume category, Vietnamese films received the attention of the audience when they gathered 12 projects, including 5 horror works and 1 TV series. Although The Four Guardians (directed by Tran Thanh) and Lat Mat 8: Mot Ky Uoc (directed by Ly Hai) were absent, the arrival of a hundred-billion-dong film lineup such as Den Am Hon (105 billion VND), Chi Dau (113 billion VND), Getting Rich with Ghosts (128 billion VND), Nu Hon Bac Billion (211 billion VND), Nha Gia Tien (242 billion VND) and Detective Kien: Ky An Khong Dau (246 billion VND) promised to bring a fierce competition at this DANAFF III.

Detective Kien: The Headless Case is the work that marks Victor Vu's 20-year career. The film has a detective-horror color, inspired by the novel Ho Oan Han by writer Hong Thai. Highly appreciated for its script, and gathering actors such as People's Artist My Uyen, Dinh Ngoc Diep, Quoc Huy, Quoc Anh, Anh Pham... helped the film earn more than 248 billion VND and is considered a potential candidate in the Vietnamese film category competing at DANAFF III.

At the time of its release, Huynh Lap's House of Ancestors continuously created a fever at the box office, earning more than 242 billion VND. This achievement helped the work starring Phuong My Chi to be in the top 10 Vietnamese films with the highest revenue. Although praised for its content, the film also received criticism for its limitations, with some segments having the color of a web drama.

Released in theaters on the occasion of Lunar New Year, The Billion Dollar Kiss had a spectacular comeback when it suddenly rose from a work with few screenings, earning more than 211 billion VND. For the first time taking on the role of a movie director, Thu Trang put her trust in young faces such as Doan Thien An, Ma Ran Do, Le Xuan Tien... It cannot be denied that creating many movie endings helped The Billion Dollar Kiss attract more audiences.

Getting Rich with Ghosts earned more than 128 billion VND despite the fact that at that time it had to face competitive pressure with another Vietnamese work also about family. The film had the participation of Meritorious Artist Hoai Linh, Le Giang, Tuan Tran, Diep Bao Ngoc... This is the first film of director Nhat Trung.
