The 24th Vietnam Film Festival is scheduled for November in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued Decision No. 3254/QD-BVHTTDL on organizing the 24th Vietnam Film Festival.

The 24th Vietnam Film Festival is a national cultural and artistic event held in Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2; and towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.

This is an activity for Ho Chi Minh City to introduce its strong transformation, affirming its role as an economic , cultural, educational and scientific-technological center, especially in the context that Ho Chi Minh City has submitted an application to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) in the field of cinema; at the same time marking the 55th anniversary of the Vietnam Film Festival (1970-2025).

With expectations for a successful film festival, the 24th Vietnam Film Festival will contribute to raising the status of Vietnamese cinema in the era of national growth; enhancing professionalism in cinema activities; creating conditions for cinema artists, managers, film creators, producers, distributors and distributors to exchange experiences, promoting the development of the film industry.

The film festival also introduces to the public new works of Vietnamese cinema; creates opportunities for contact, dialogue and exchange between artists, filmmakers and audiences, contributing to understanding the needs and tastes of the public in cinema.

At the same time, the event commends Vietnamese cinematographic works imbued with national identity, rich in humanity, and marked by creativity; honors cinema artists with outstanding achievements in the period from the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival to the 24th Vietnam Film Festival.

This year's Vietnam Film Festival has the tentative theme "Vietnamese Cinema - Sustainable Development and International Integration in the New Era".

There will be many attractive activities such as: Opening ceremony, Closing ceremony and award ceremony of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival; Competition film program including feature films, documentaries, scientific films, animated films; Panorama program, contemporary Vietnamese film program including films produced during the period from the 23rd Vietnam Film Festival to the 24th Vietnam Film Festival (not included in the Competition film program); Seminar program with 2 topics (expected) "Developing the film industry in the new era" and "Experience in attracting film crews to localities"; Program to promote and develop local cinema; Film week to welcome the 24th Vietnam Film Festival...

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requires that the organization of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival must honor new cinematographic works that bear the mark of creativity, humanity, benevolence, and are rich in Vietnamese cultural identity, in order to develop the film market and move towards successfully building a modern Vietnamese film industry rich in national cultural identity.
