Monitoring the water level on the Con River shows that, as of early this afternoon (September 28), flood water continued to rise nearly 50 cm higher than early this morning.

Many roads were deeply flooded, local authorities had to put up warning signs and barricades, preventing people from passing. People in Tan Ky district said that currently, there are about 70 cm away from the historical flood peak of 2022. If the weather continues to rain in the coming days, the water level of the Con River will rise even higher.

According to a quick report from the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue of Tan Ky district, by the afternoon of September 28, localities conducted statistics on the area of flooded crops, with preliminary estimates that hundreds of hectares of crops such as sugarcane, corn, rice, and cassava were broken, and aquaculture areas were flooded.

In Anh Son district, according to the report of the district's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, by the afternoon of September 28, the damage had increased compared to the previous day, with nearly 1,000 hectares of crops and 379 hectares of aquaculture flooded, along with a number of sewers, electric poles, fences... damaged.
Mr. Hoang Van Thai - Acting leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Anh Son district said: The reason the flooded crop area increased compared to yesterday is because the hydroelectric plants continued to release floodwaters, along with the water from the Con River pouring in, causing the Lam River to increase compared to yesterday.
It is continuing to rain, the river water continues to rise, and there is concern that the crop areas that have been flooded for many days will be completely lost, especially the winter corn areas that have been planted since the beginning of September.

The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Tan Ky and Anh Son districts directly went to the grassroots to direct localities to mobilize forces to support people when necessary, as well as guide people to travel safely, to avoid unfortunate losses.
