Taking advantage of the rain stopping on the afternoon of November 19, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Kim Tuan, Deputy Commander of the City Military Command, directly went to the scene to grasp the situation and direct forces to search for missing victims in the landslide in Hung Son commune.
The City Military Command mobilized 50 officers and soldiers, divided into many working groups, organized searches in each direction, closely following areas suspected of having victims.
Due to the steep terrain, loose soil and potential risk of landslides, the force could not use mechanical machinery, the entire task was carried out manually.
Officers and soldiers took turns clearing away rocks and soil, expanding the access area and protecting the scene. Specialized teams also deployed sniffer dogs to search for traces around; at the same time, drones continuously flew from above, helping to isolate suspicious areas and coordinate with ground forces.
After a period of searching, officers and soldiers discovered a victim's body. Because the body had begun to decompose, initial identification was difficult. The authorities protected the scene, removed the body and handed it over to a specialized agency to verify the victim's identity according to regulations.
At the scene, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Kim Tuan asked officers and soldiers to coordinate smoothly between ground forces, sniffer dogs and flycams, making efforts to search for the remaining victims.
Currently, the search work in Hung Son commune is still taking place urgently, with the determination to soon complete the rescue mission.
