Quang Nam Armed Forces "3 together" to build "3 hard" houses

Officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces implemented the “3 together” and participated in eliminating temporary houses according to the “3 hard” criteria. The completed houses not only helped the poor settle down but also strengthened the military-civilian relationship.

Eat together, live together, work together

One day at the end of May 2025, we had the opportunity to visit Phuoc Chanh commune, Phuoc Son district. Here, officers and soldiers of the Phuoc Son district armed forces were focusing on helping people build houses under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

Present at Mr. Ho Van Giang's family (village 4), witnessing the busy atmosphere of the district's military officers and soldiers and the people, each with a job to join hands in transporting sand, cement, bricks... to help Mr. Giang's family build a house.

Chairman of Phuoc Chanh Commune People's Committee Ho Van Huy said that Mr. Ho Van Giang is a poor household, currently lives alone and is unable to work. Mr. Giang's new house is expected to include a living room, bedroom and outbuildings.

The cost of purchasing materials is 60 million VND, advanced by the Commune People's Committee from the Temporary Housing Demolition Fund; the Phuoc Son District Military Command and Phuoc Chanh Commune Military Command support all construction workdays.

According to the assignment, the Phuoc Son District Military Command was assigned to support human resources to remove 13 temporary houses (build 5 new houses and repair 8 houses). The unit representative said that now is the hot season so they will focus on the peak, soon completing the assigned progress ahead of schedule.

To facilitate the process of building houses, the unit sent military cadres to the commune to directly support the logistics work. They ate, lived, and worked together, and only returned when the work was finished.

“Although it is difficult and hard, we always try and make efforts so that people can soon have solid houses. Thereby, we contribute to ensuring social security, strengthening the solidarity between the army and the people, and building a beautiful image of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers” in the hearts of the people” - Captain Nguyen Dinh Dung - political officer, Phuoc Son District Military Command, who directly participated in building the house expressed.

Not only in Phuoc Son district, the Provincial Military Command has focused on directing units to organize officers, soldiers, regular troops, and militia to participate in helping and supporting families in the three districts of Dong Giang, Phuoc Son, and Nam Tra My to build houses under the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses with the spirit of "3 together" (eating together, living together, working together). Minimizing the inconvenience and impact on the locality and households in terms of logistics.

Up to now, the units have mobilized hundreds of officers, soldiers, regular soldiers, and militia to help families transport materials, dig foundations, and build houses. Thereby, contributing to speeding up the construction progress, completing 17 new houses and 14 repaired houses.

Exceeded 225% of target

According to the plan to organize mass mobilization activities to support human resources to implement the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province of the Provincial Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary Houses, the Provincial Police were assigned to support the elimination of 40 temporary houses in Phuoc Son, Bac Tra My and Dong Giang.

Head of the Provincial Police Youth Union Bui Anh Duc said that up to now, the Provincial Police Youth Union has supported the completion of 10/40 houses. The volunteer youth team of 32 members coordinated with local authorities to survey and construct to ensure the "3 hard" criteria (hard foundation, hard walls, hard roof).

Most recently, after more than 2 months of construction with the help of local youth union members, the new house of Mr. Dinh Van Lanh's family (village 3, Tra Tan commune) was completed.

The house has an area of ​​43m2 including 1 living room, 2 bedrooms. The total investment is 120 million VND, of which the State supports 60 million VND, the Provincial Police supports 20 million VND from socialized sources and the family contributes 40 million VND. The Youth Union and Youth of the Provincial Police participate in supporting human resources with more than 50 working days; implementing "3 together" with the people throughout the house construction process.

Looking at his completed small house, Mr. Dinh Van Lanh was moved: “In the past few days, the help of the local police officers and volunteers has greatly supported my family. From now on, I no longer have to worry about my house collapsing every time it rains or is windy. I am very grateful!”

Along with mobilizing human resources, the Provincial Police have just connected with the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank) to support 5 billion VND to build 50 houses (each house worth 100 million VND) in 3 districts of Phuoc Son, Bac Tra My and Dong Giang.

It is expected that these 50 houses will be completed before the 80th Anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security Forces (August 19). Up to now, the Provincial Public Security Forces have eliminated 90 temporary houses, exceeding 225% of the target assigned by the Provincial Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary Houses.

Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hoang - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department said that building houses for people in difficult circumstances is a meaningful activity, demonstrating a profound humanitarian spirit, contributing practically to caring for people's lives and building a strong national solidarity bloc. This is considered an important task in practicing "Skilled Mass Mobilization" work associated with the assigned political tasks of each agency and unit.
