The reason why the principal of a large university in Ho Chi Minh City was proposed for review

The Party Committee of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine has just issued a resolution on leading the establishment of the Faculty Council in 2025.

The Party Committee of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine unanimously revoked the decision of the school's principal (Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hiep) on establishing an inspection team for the activities of the Science and Training Council, related to the proposal to establish a grassroots Professor Council in 2025.

At the same time, assign the principal to urgently implement and report to the Party Committee before May 12.

In addition, the principal is requested to urgently establish a Basic Professor Council in 2025 and report to the Party Committee before May 14.

The Party Committee of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine also announced the conclusion of the 10th Party Executive Committee on issues related to the establishment of the Faculty Council in 2025.

The conclusion shows that the issues arising in connection with the establishment of the 2025 Basic Professorial Council are urgent, important and sensitive.

The principal did not discuss and approve the opinions of the Party Committee or the Board of Directors but arbitrarily issued two urgent documents, which is not in accordance with the resolutions and working regulations of the school's Party Committee.

According to the conclusion, the principal sent contents such as urgent dispatch No. 1278 dated May 5, scanned copies of the votes of confidence of the school's Faculty Council members in 2025, and the minutes of the vote counting at the school's Science and Training Council meeting on April 23 to the school's Zalo groups/clubs, which were not in accordance with the regulations.

The Rector issued Decision No. 1576 dated May 7 on the establishment of an inspection team for the activities of the Science and Training Council of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine related to the proposal to establish a basic Professor Council in 2025 and approved the plan related to Decision No. 1576/QD-TĐHYKPNT which is not in accordance with Instruction No. 5360 of 2023 of the Ministry of Education and Training guiding the implementation of internal inspection and examination tasks for training institutions.

In conclusion, the above incidents directly affect the reputation of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in general, the University's Science and Training Council and the 2025 Faculty Council in particular.

This affects the establishment of the 2025 Basic Professor Council of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine and the progress of implementing the work of considering the title of professor/associate professor for candidates.

Therefore, the Party Executive Committee of the 10th term of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine requested the principal to seriously criticize, review and draw experience and send a review report to the Party Committee before May 16.
