Malaysia will return to Bukit Jalil National Stadium to host Vietnam in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers on June 10.
Previously, Malaysia opened the 2027 Asian Cup qualifying campaign with a 2-0 victory over Nepal at the 40,000-seat Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on March 25.
Bukit Jalil is truly the “holy land” of the Malaysian team with a capacity of up to 80,000 seats. The atmosphere here is always a huge challenge for visiting teams.
Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) CEO Rob Friend confidently told the New Straits Times that returning to Bukit Jalil will give the home team more advantages in the important battle.

“This is not just a qualifying match, it is a time for Malaysians to come together to support the team and show national unity. We are trying to create something meaningful, so we want to see our fans at Bukit Jalil,” added Rob Friend.
The last time the “Malaysian Tigers” played at Bukit Jalil was in the 2024 ASEAN Cup, where they were held to a draw by Singapore in front of 31,000 fans.
Vietnam just had a big 5-0 victory over Laos in the opening match to surpass Malaysia to lead Group C of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
The match against Malaysia on June 10 is the most important match for coach Kim Sang Sik and his team, deciding the ticket to continue at the Asian Cup.
