Mr. Le Thanh Dai - Chairman of the Vietnam Bird's Nest Association - emphasized that the conference is an opportunity to share experiences in building methods to trace the origin of bird's nests, ensuring food safety and quality for bird's nest exporting enterprises.
Up to now, the whole country has more than 22,000 birdhouses, distributed in 42/63 provinces and cities. The Mekong Delta has about 10,500 birdhouses (accounting for 44.7%, concentrated in Kien Giang and Tien Giang provinces). The Southeast region has about 5,900 birdhouses (accounting for 25%); the South Central region has more than 4,900 birdhouses (accounting for 21%), the Central Highlands has about 1,900 birdhouses (accounting for 8.4%).
The northern provinces alone raise only about 240 bird nest houses. Vietnam's current bird nest output is about 150-200 tons/year, with an estimated economic value of 500-600 million USD.

Mr. Luu Van Phi - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Tien Giang province - said that in 2024, the Vietnam Bird's Nest Association has done a lot of work. He agreed with the Association's direction of operation in 2025. At the same time, he noted a number of contents for the sustainable development of the bird's nest industry, focusing on ensuring product quality compared to the declared content.
"The Department of Industry and Trade and related sectors will work closely with businesses to develop the bird's nest industry. Recently, the leaders of Tien Giang province approved the policy of establishing the Tien Giang Bird's Nest Association, which is a very encouraging sign," he said.
