“Mat Biec” - a concert celebrating 60 years of Ngo Thuy Mien's love songs through a new voice

The live concert “Mat Biec” marking the 60th anniversary of Ngo Thuy Mien’s love song will be performed with great emotion by singers passionate about singing love songs, at 8:00 p.m. on August 12, at the Hanoi Opera House.

“Blue Eyes” continues the series of programs honoring authors and works organized by Vang Son Mot Thuo Company Limited.

When mentioning the name of musician Ngo Thuy Mien, music lovers remember immortal songs such as "Last chant", "Last love song", "This afternoon without you", "Ha Dong silk shirt", "Ivory teardrop", "Blue eyes", "Giang ngoc", "Tuoi 13", "Autumn for you", "Love song for you", "Rieng mot goc troi"...

The music night “Mat Biec” will immerse the audience in those love songs through the fresh arrangement and orchestration of musician Nguyen Quang as general director.

Sharing about the music night “Mat Biec”, musician Nguyen Quang said: “I feel that Ngo Thuy Mien’s music has a very beautiful, emotional, romantic melody. The lyrics are sad but without suffering, resentment, or sorrow, but always looking forward to the day of reunion and a brighter and better tomorrow.”

In addition, musician Nguyen Quang revealed that all of musician Ngo Thuy Mien’s compositions are about a single “beauty” – his faithful life partner. Therefore, in the night of “Mat Biec”, the general director wanted to build the image of musician Ngo Thuy Mien and his “beauty” would be the symbol of love throughout the program.

Although there are many familiar songs, musician Nguyen Quang said that the music night will have many unique and unprecedented features. For example, there will be songs performed by male singers instead of female singers as audiences have often heard before. Many songs will be mashups (combined together) to tell an emotional love story...

The music night "Mat Biec" will introduce many talented singers singing new love songs.

With “Mat Biec”, producer - singer Ngoc Cham and general director Nguyen Quang share the same intention of creating a playground for talented singers who have contributed to Vietnam's music industry but have not had many opportunities to get closer to the audience.

Therefore, besides famous singer Elvis Phuong, the music night featured young stars Phuong Phuong Thao, Sao Mai Le Viet Anh, Sao Mai Huy Quyet, and beloved singers such as Tuan Anh, Tran Tuan Hoa, Dieu Thuy, Phuong Anh, Bach Nguyen, Ngoc Cham... In particular, the music night featured young singers Tri Anh, Ngan Thuy, Nhat Truong.

Producer and singer Ngoc Cham shared: “I have done many live shows for famous artists to make their mark. And now, I want to create opportunities for talented singers who sing love songs very well to reach a large audience. We will be the bridge to bring new talents closer to the public. They will be the stars of the future.”

At the “Mat Biec” music night, designer Thanh Huong Bui - owner of the high-end ao dai and evening gown brand Huong Queen, will launch a collection called “Ao lua Ha Dong”, inspired by the song of musician Ngo Thuy Mien (poem by Nguyen Sa), contributing to creating a highlight for the program.

Musician Ngo Thuy Mien started writing music in 1963 when he was only 15 years old. Throughout his career, most of Ngo Thuy Mien's compositions were love songs and he is one of the few musicians who have devoted his entire life to composing love songs. In 60 years of writing music, he has created a unique corner called "Mien Khuc" in Vietnamese music.
