The flight and crew were welcomed with a water cannon ceremony. Leaders of the Da Nang People's Committee and the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism attended the ceremony to welcome the first flight.

Mr. Nabil Sultan, executive vice president of passenger business and country management at Emirates, said that the launch of the flight from Dubai via Thailand to Da Nang this time is a step forward for the airline's growth in Southeast Asia.

Central Vietnam is famous for many heritages, especially Hue , Hoi An, My Son... so the source of tourists is very large.

Mr. Nabil Sultan also said that Emirates' opening of a new route between Dubai and Da Nang demonstrates its strategic investment in Vietnam, and its role in enhancing the country's tourism capacity and global connectivity.

Speaking at the welcoming ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong said that opening the flight route will contribute to making Da Nang a trading center, shortening the distance between the city and strategic markets such as the Middle East, Europe, North America and Africa.

In particular, the flight route was opened in the context of Da Nang implementing special mechanisms according to Resolution 136 of the National Assembly to aim to become an international financial center and free trade zone.

The first flight carrying 333 passengers from Dubai landed at Da Nang International Airport at 7:50 p.m. According to the plan, Emirates will operate four flights per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Specifically: Flight Dubai - Bangkok (9:00 - 18:25), Bangkok - Da Nang (20:10 - 21:15). Flight Da Nang - Bangkok (23:30 - 1:10), Bangkok - Dubai (3:40 - 6:50).

Emirates is the largest and most extensive airline in the Middle East with great potential, up to 4,100 flights/week from Dubai International Airport to 140 cities in more than 80 countries around the world.

Besides passenger transport, Emirates is also highly appreciated for the quality and safety in cargo transport.

Emirates is currently the largest airline in the world by passenger numbers, kilometers flown and second in cargo (by distance).

In Vietnam, Emirates Airlines is operating 25 flights per week to Vietnam, specifically: Hanoi - Dubai (UAE) with a frequency of 7 flights/week; Ho Chi Minh City - Dubai with a frequency of 14 flights/week and currently Da Nang with a frequency of 4 flights/week.
