
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of Thanh Oai Commune People's Committee Nguyen Dang Manh emphasized that organizing the collection of public opinions is an important step to ensure publicity, transparency, and promote people's ownership in urban planning. This is a vivid demonstration of the spirit of innovation in the city's planning work, in which people are not only the subjects of planning, but also the subjects participating in planning the future of the place where they live.
The Olympic Sports Urban Area Planning Project - Zone D plays a role in orienting the development of the southern area of Hanoi to become a center of sports, culture, services and ecological urban areas, associated with the goal of sustainable development, green - smart - regional connectivity.
At the conference, the representative of the planning consultancy unit, the Hanoi Institute of Construction Planning, presented the draft of the Olympic Sports Urban Sub-Zone Planning Project - Zone D, scale 1/2000, with an area of 3,742.70 hectares, a population of 275,000 people, located in the administrative boundaries of Thanh Oai, Tam Hung, and Dan Hoa communes. In which, the main land area is Thanh Oai commune with more than 2,800 hectares, including the entire planning area adjacent to the residential area of Kim Bai town, Do Dong commune (old) and part of the area of Phuong Trung and Kim Thu communes (old). The development orientation of the Olympic Sports Urban Sub-Zone - Zone D is a sports urban area, a service urban area associated with a sports complex (international-class stadium).


The conference received many enthusiastic and practical contributions from commune leaders, sectors, and representatives of the community. The opinions focused on the following contents: Solutions to synchronously connect the current situation with the new urban area; adjusting the traffic system to limit site clearance, drainage infrastructure works and expanding drainage routes; ensuring harmony between urban development and preserving landscapes, cultural and religious relics...
The opinions were compiled by the Commune People's Committee and sent to the Hanoi Architectural Planning Project Management Board for consideration and acceptance in the process of completing the appraisal dossier.


The Olympic Sports Urban Area is not only a place to host major sporting events, but also a new driving force for socio -economic development, creating jobs, expanding services, promoting trade and tourism, and improving the quality of life of people in the surrounding area.
