From the early afternoon of November 6, the sky over Quy Nhon darkened, black clouds swirled, and the wind howled, making the whole space sink into a murky gray. At around 4 p.m., typhoon Kalmaegi (typhoon No. 13) was about to make landfall, with strong gusts of wind and violent waves crashing in.

The strong winds knocked down trees and uprooted them, scattering objects everywhere. Some poorly reinforced roofs and signs were blown away and scattered everywhere.

In the coastal area of Quy Nhon along Xuan Dieu and An Duong Vuong streets, waves over 3m high crashed strongly, rolling up the shore, creating white foam. The sound of wind and waves combined to create a chaotic and tense scene before the storm hit.

After 4pm, the sky began to darken, immersed in rain.

Local authorities have urgently evacuated thousands of households in coastal areas of Quy Nhon and areas at risk of landslides in Gia Lai. Rescue forces, police and soldiers are on duty, doing their best to ensure people's safety.
