Mbappe receives Golden Boot: 'I want to win again next year'

Just like the saying “a picture is worth a thousand words” , Kylian Mbappe is the leader of Real Madrid. He can hide it, but he cannot deny what everyone can see.

This is the first time Mbappe has won the award . He is also the third Real Madrid player to lift the title. Only 3 people in 58 seasons, since 1967.

The first was Hugo S a nchez with 38 goals in the 1989/90 season. After that , Cristiano Ronaldo won 3 times – 40 goals ( 2010/11 ), 31 goals ( 2013/14 ) and 48 goals ( 2014/15 ) respectively.

Including the first one won at MU , Ronaldo has been honored a total of 4 times .

“We are extremely happy today, because a prestigious award like the Golden Boot is awarded to one of the best players in the world . Dear Kylian, congratulations ,” said President Florentino Perez .

Perez told Mbappe: “ You perfectly represent the values of this most traditional club. This will be an unforgettable memory. This is the first Golden Boot, but from here, you are writing your own history. ”

Mbappe did not hide his happiness: “It's great to receive the Golden Boot ! Thank you everyone. This is an important moment for me. It's the first time I've won this award , it means a lot. ”

“ I have to thank my teammates, who have always been there for me and helped me find the best version of myself ,” Mbappe said. “ We are a great team, and hopefully we will win many titles this season . ”

Mbappe is ambitious: “Playing for Real Madrid is a great honor. Everyone knows this is my childhood dream. I hope to stay for a long time, to bring joy to Madridistas.

It was a great day. Hopefully we can continue like this, because the most important thing is the team. Without all the people here, I couldn't have won this award.

Thanks to the whole club: the doctors, the technical team and everyone who helped me on and off the pitch... Without them, this title would not have been possible.

I am very happy and want to continue writing history. Last season it was 31 goals... This season I started very well (11 goals in La Liga; 16 in all competitions – PV) , so... of course, I want to win it next season too!” .
