In recent days, Vietnamese showbiz has been continuously receiving shocking news. From actress Truong Ngoc Anh - a symbol of beauty and talent, designer Nguyen Cong Tri - "king of Vietnamese fashion " or beauty queen Thuy Tien - an inspiration for overcoming personal difficulties and spreading love to the community... all have been arrested.
The incidents happened just a few months apart, leaving the public shocked and questioning the social responsibility of celebrities - people who used to be symbols of Vietnamese talent and image.
Truong Ngoc Anh from silver screen star to detention camp

On October 31, the Investigation Police Agency, Ho Chi Minh City Police ( Economic Police Department) prosecuted and temporarily detained actress Truong Ngoc Anh to investigate the crime of Abuse of trust to appropriate property.
This news shocked the Vietnamese entertainment industry, because before her arrest, Truong Ngoc Anh was famous in many fields, from acting, film production to organizing beauty pageants. In particular, audiences still used to refer to Truong Ngoc Anh with the title "hot scene queen" because she transformed excellently with a series of roles in films: Ao lua Ha Dong, Ngoc vien dong, Huong Ga.
Truong Ngoc Anh is one of the few actresses with a sexy appearance in Vietnamese cinema and does not hesitate to commit herself, accepting to act in daring scenes to serve the character and story of the film.
Before her arrest, Truong Ngoc Anh faced a serious financial crisis. She had continuous business troubles, from partners defaulting on payments to having to sell assets to pay off debts.
As the owner of a film production company, Truong Ngoc Anh once invested heavily in many film projects with the hope of expanding her business. However, a series of consecutive financial events pushed her into a spiral of lawsuits and media noise, but the audience never thought that one day she would have to receive handcuffs.
Designer Nguyen Cong Tri from the peak of fame to prison

On July 23, Ho Chi Minh City Police announced that they had arrested designer Nguyen Cong Tri (born in 1978, from Da Nang ) to investigate his involvement in a drug trafficking ring.
This information immediately created a wave of discussion in public opinion because Nguyen Cong Tri has long been considered a creative symbol of Vietnamese fashion. He is a pioneer in bringing Vietnamese designs to the world, having collaborated with many international stars such as Beyoncé, Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Miley Cyrus.
The Vietnamese fashion world calls Cong Tri the "king of Vietnamese fashion", a persistent, discreet and admired creator. Therefore, his arrest shocked many colleagues and fans.
The case is still being investigated and clarified by the police. Although the final conclusion has not been announced, the image and personal brand of this famous designer have been seriously damaged.
Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien was prosecuted for deceiving customers.

On May 19, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency prosecuted and temporarily detained Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien (born in 1998, Ho Chi Minh City) for the crime of "Deceiving customers" under Clause 2, Article 198 of the Penal Code.
Thuy Tien was accused of being involved in a case of false advertising and selling Kera vegetable candy products, in which she contributed capital and received nearly 7 billion VND in commission. According to the investigation agency, Thuy Tien's group was accused of staging images, falsely advertising the product's uses, and taking advantage of the influence of the beauty queen title to attract consumers.
Thuy Tien was loved by the public for her dynamic, intelligent and inspirational image after being crowned Miss Grand International 2021 - the first Vietnamese to win this crown. She represents the modern generation of beauty queens, associated with the message of spreading kindness and peace.
Therefore, the news of Thuy Tien being temporarily detained has shocked the public. Many fans expressed regret, saying that celebrities participating in business and advertising products without control is a valuable lesson for artists.
The fact that three famous faces were caught up in the law within a short period of time has shaken the public’s trust in the entertainment industry. From being inspirational icons, they suddenly became the focus of criminal cases. The public began to ask the question: Are celebrities still aware enough of the social responsibility that comes with fame?
When an artist is in the public eye, every action, whether in private life or business, carries influence. Talent is not a shield for wrongdoing. When fame comes with responsibility, celebrities must be more careful.
The constant legal troubles of celebrities show the fine line between fame and consequences. Fame does not excuse any wrongdoing, and the higher the position, the more careful the artist must be with his or her choices.
The Vietnamese entertainment industry is facing an earthquake, not only because of the collapse of big names but also because public trust is being seriously tested.
