WIPO Creative Economy Data Model: Platform to promote Vietnam's cultural industry

(HTV) - In Hanoi, the Copyright Office worked with WIPO on a creative economy data model, to standardize measurement tools and support the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Vietnam's Cultural Industries.

This model provides a unified and synchronized measurement framework according to international standards, supporting the process of building and implementing the Strategy for the development of Vietnam's cultural industry to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Head of the Copyright and Creative Industries Division, WIPO said: "WIPO has provided many services and is ready to offer solutions to support Vietnam in building and developing a creative economy . Creative industries and the copyright and intellectual property protection system play an important role, contributing positively to economic growth and GDP. In the context of digital transformation, Vietnam must be ready to make adjustments to copyright regulations very quickly."

In the context of the strong growth of the global cultural industry, digital technology promotes the speed of spreading cultural products, Vietnam with its rich cultural resources has not yet exploited its potential. WIPO's data model is expected to help Vietnam accurately measure the contribution of the creative economy, identify bottlenecks in the ecosystem, thereby planning appropriate policies, and maximizing creative resources and cultural resources.

Director of the Copyright Office, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, WIPO experts are sharing the creative economy model based on the legal framework and the protected copyright protection system. These factors create a favorable environment to encourage creativity, thereby forming a creative economy that contributes to socio-economic development.

According to experts, Vietnam has built and perfected many legal regulations to promote the creative economy. An increasingly clear legal framework will create more opportunities for creators to develop their potential and contribute to the overall development of the country.
