Rise from hardship

Trung Tien is a village located in the center of Nga Hai commune. The whole village has 145 households with 620 people, the natural area is more than 40 hectares - lower than the average of the whole commune. In the past, Trung Tien was one of the areas facing many obstacles in economic development: narrow traffic system, many dead ends; small population, no traditional occupations or potential for resource exploitation.

Secretary of Trung Tien village Party cell Do Thi Hang shared: “When we first started implementing Directive 05-CT/TW on promoting studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, I and many cadres in the village were still wondering, not knowing where to start, what to do. As for the people, they were hesitant, even skeptical. The initial implementation of building new rural areas encountered many reactions, especially when mobilizing to build roads and upgrade infrastructure. Many times, village cadres were questioned and protested when the village road was raised higher than the house gate, affecting the garden. People did not understand, did not see the effectiveness, so they were skeptical.”

However, with perseverance in mobilizing, leading by example, combining learning from Uncle Ho from simple things, the Party Committee and the Village Development Board have gradually removed difficulties and cleared up bottlenecks in the hearts of the people. With the view that widening the road is also a highlight as well as expanding the vision for the future of the village, all households on both sides of the road responded and joined hands. 62 households donated thousands of ^square meters of land by breaking down walls and filling in fields. Many families who had just built gates and walls also voluntarily demolished them to donate land and spent their own money to rebuild, such as the families of Mr. Mai Van Trong, Nguyen Ba Trang, Mai The Huy, Mai Sy Tuan, Thinh Van Thap... Thanks to that, the village road was widened to 7-8m in some places.

Learn from Uncle Ho's specific and practical actions

Without a grandiose, formal organization, the village Party Cell clearly determined: learning and following Uncle Ho must be associated with specific, practical tasks, close to people's lives. Learning from Uncle Ho is about punctuality and thrift; learning from Uncle Ho is about being close to the people; learning from Uncle Ho is about setting an example, "saying goes with doing". Each cadre and party member must first and foremost be the one to do first, to do for real. Learning from and following Uncle Ho is integrated into each village meeting, each movement such as environmental sanitation, building a cultural life, renovating the cultural house grounds, mobilizing children far from home to contribute to building the village gate...

Following Uncle Ho's example, many households in the village have invested in high-tech agricultural production, bringing high economic efficiency.

The village does not follow the trend of finishing things, but is determined to build the new rural area in a systematic, synchronous and effective manner. The easy and less costly tasks are done first to create motivation; at the same time, careful preparation is made for larger projects.

Without waiting for support from the State, Trung Tien highly promoted the "internal strength" - from material, intellectual to spiritual of the people. People's strength was mobilized not only by money, but also by intelligence, effort and self-awareness. Many children in the village who are currently working as engineers and architects in the city volunteered to design and calculate projects to help the village save hundreds of millions of dong. Some people contributed ideas to create parallel sentences for the village gate, others organized small seminars on village planning. These are the things that make Trung Tien both modern and imbued with its own identity.

Before 2021, Mai The Chien's family did all kinds of jobs to make a living, from driving a truck to transporting materials to digging trees, transporting soil, making concrete bricks, but the income was not high and it consumed his health. In 2020, responding to the study and follow of Uncle Ho, he boldly consolidated his fields, bought more land to build ^{1,000m2 of} greenhouses, and has now increased the area to 3,000m2, mainly growing cantaloupes, with an average annual income of over 400 million VND.

Seeing the effectiveness of Mr. Chien's family, other families also followed the model of growing cantaloupe in greenhouses. Up to now, Trung Tien village has 5 families producing agriculture in greenhouses, bringing the total area of ​​greenhouses and greenhouses in the village to ^7,500m2 .

Achievements after 10 years of studying and following Uncle Ho

After 10 years of implementing Directive 05-CT/TW on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, Trung Tien village has achieved many remarkable achievements. In 2024, the village will become a smart village, applying information technology in management and operation, from security camera systems, automatic irrigation to phone applications to receive feedback from people. Socio-economic development indicators have all increased sharply. Average income per capita is 86 million VND/year. Trung Tien is also one of the few villages that meet the standards of "no crime, no drug addiction"; green - clean - beautiful landscape; strong national defense - security.

The roads in the village have been widened and paved.

From a difficult area, Trung Tien has become a place for many localities inside and outside the district to visit and learn. There are real people, real work, projects, achievements, faith and pride”.

From a poor farming village, Trung Tien has gradually risen up by its own strength, by its determination to innovate thinking, perception and action. Learning from Uncle Ho from the simplest things, Trung Tien has done the most extraordinary thing: turning aspirations into reality, turning people's hearts into the driving force for development. With faith, consensus, determination and valuable lessons from practice, Trung Tien will continue to be a bright spot, a model of a new rural model in his homeland Thanh Hoa.
