Currently, people in Tra Linh, Quang Trung, Quang Han, Hanh Phuc, Ha Lang communes of Cao Bang province are strongly developing the model of growing giang leaves, with an area of ​​up to hundreds of hectares. These are models of cooperation with enterprises for development, in which the enterprise is responsible for providing seeds, capital, and techniques, while people contribute land and effort to take care of the plants. When harvesting, the enterprise will consume all output products. This is a favorable factor that helps people feel secure in investing in expanding the area of ​​giang leaves, bringing high economic value and a guaranteed source of income for people in localities in the province.

A representative of Van Phuc Xanh 559 Co., Ltd. said: "The company will provide 100% of the seedlings to the people, and provide technical guidance on planting and caring for the trees. When harvesting, we will be responsible for purchasing all products for the people at market prices. People only need to worry about planting and taking good care of them. The higher the yield, the higher their income."

Popularizing the technique of growing giang leaves for people

Ms. Mac Thi Ha's family in Tra Linh commune said: "My family has developed a model of growing giang since 2024, with an area of ​​more than 5 hectares. This is a type of tree suitable for the local climate and soil, so it grows quite well, has few pests and diseases, and can be harvested in just over a year."

Identifying this as a crop with high economic value, many families in Trung Khanh commune have also invested in developing the cultivation of this plant. The price of giang leaves in the Cao Bang market is currently fluctuating from 8 - 10 thousand VND/1kg of fresh leaves, it is expected that from the second year onwards, each giang clump will yield about 20kg of fresh leaves.

Mr. Do Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of Van Phuc Xanh 559 Co., Ltd., Tai Nam hamlet, Tra Linh commune, said: With this type of giang leaf plant, it has an advantage over other crops in that you only have to invest capital to plant it once, then it will grow and branch out into clumps. The care is not too expensive, but the value of the product is much higher than other crops. After about 1 year, the harvest of each giang clump fluctuates around 200,000 VND/clump".

Currently, Van Phuc Xanh 559 Company Limited is also focusing on mobilizing people to participate in developing the model of growing giang leaves to expand the area of ​​giang trees in many communes in the province, thereby creating stable jobs, as well as increasing sustainable income for local people. In 2025, the company plans to expand the growing area from 1,000 - 1,500 hectares in the communes of Tam Kim, Nguyen Binh, Phuc Hoa with a total investment capital of over 5 billion VND to date. Not only supplying seeds and fertilizers, the company also purchases all giang leaves for people, then processes, preserves, and dries giang leaves for export to some countries such as China, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. The company is committed to purchasing and consuming products directly for people.

Distributing giang seedlings to people

According to data from the People's Committee of Tra Linh commune, there are currently more than 70 hectares of giang trees planted in the commune. To develop the giang tree area and open up a direction for rural economic development for the people, the Party Committee and the commune government continue to promote propaganda and mobilize people in the area to encourage planting of trees that bring high economic efficiency, including giang trees for leaves. The commune has identified this as one of the commodity crops for people to focus on developing household economy and reserve some idle land areas to plant giang trees for leaves, promote the economy, and contribute to building effective new rural areas in the area.
