Today, November 11, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training held a ceremony to honor advanced models and outstanding teachers in the Hanoi Education and Training sector in 2025, celebrating the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day.
At the ceremony, 32 groups and 75 individuals were awarded the First, Second and Third Class Labor Medals; the Government's Excellent Emulation Flag; and the Prime Minister 's Certificate of Merit in recognition of their outstanding achievements and exemplary contributions to the education cause.
Nearly 400 students admitted to the Party
At the ceremony, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong said that the 2024-2025 and 2025 school years have affirmed the efforts and determination of the entire education sector in the capital with clear changes in quality and efficiency, both in key and mass education.
Hanoi currently has 2,954 kindergartens and general schools; 352 vocational training institutions; more than 2.3 million students; 140,000 staff and teachers. The rate of public schools meeting national standards is 80.6%. The rate of high school graduates in 2025 is ranked first among 34 provinces and cities and is the highest result in the past 20 years of Hanoi education.
With key education, Hanoi students lead the country in the national excellent student exam with 200 students winning prizes; 18 students winning prizes in international excellent student exams, including 3 medals at the International Chemistry Olympiad, International Biology Olympiad; 5 medals at the World Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad... In 2025, 379 Hanoi students were admitted to the Party.
In digital transformation, 100% of schools and educational institutions have applied information technology in management and teaching; 100% of high school students have been given identification codes based on industry databases... Hanoi ranks first in the country in the rate of implementing electronic transcripts with 97.6%; is a pioneer in implementing dual-degree and bilingual programs and expanding international cooperation.
According to the Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the above achievements are largely due to the efforts of teachers who have been working tirelessly, silently, and dedicating themselves to the cause of "cultivating people."
Focus on education
Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc affirmed that the city always identifies education and training as a top national policy, always paying attention and making appropriate investments in mechanisms, resources and human resources to implement it.
Recognizing and praising the achievements of the capital's education sector, Hanoi Party Secretary Nguyen Duy Ngoc also pointed out the limitations such as low access to education compared to developed cities in the world; the gap between inner city, suburban areas and remote areas; the teaching staff, facilities, and schools in some places have not met the requirements; the vocational education system has not developed commensurately... As the "heart" of the whole country, Hanoi also needs to take the responsibility of being an exemplary leader in implementing Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development.
Accordingly, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc requested that the entire Education and Training sector of the capital need to clearly define the responsibility of presiding over and advising the City Party Committee and the City People's Committee on issues related to education and training in the capital; review the goals and tasks set out in Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW, compare with the actual situation to develop an implementation plan in the spirit of "leading by example."
Specifically, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training needs to complete the review and supplement of the school network planning until 2030 and the vision to 2045, ensuring "enough schools, enough classes, enough teachers" to meet the learning needs of the capital's people; resolutely correct negativity and achievement disease; promote digital transformation; gradually make English the second language in schools; fully prepare the conditions to implement 2-session/day learning...

Affirming the view that investing in education is investing in the future of Hanoi, taking care of education is taking care of the long-term, sustainable development of the capital, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc said that the Party Committee will soon issue an Action Program to implement Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW, dated August 22, 2025 of the Politburo on breakthrough development of education and training, strengthening leadership and direction, creating all conditions for the industry to develop breakthroughs.
