The particularly important goal in the merger between Quang Nam and Da Nang into the (new) Da Nang City is to expand the development space. First of all, the (new) Da Nang can expand the urban space to the suburbs, especially the border areas of Quang Nam province, which is very necessary to exploit the potential, strengths and solve the problem of pressure on Da Nang's inner city.

Quang Nam possesses abundant land resources to build urban areas, commercial centers, real estate industry, forming entertainment areas, high-class tourism services in the Eastern region stretching from Dien Ban to Nui Thanh.

Bordering Da Nang, some communes and towns of Dai Loc district, communes and wards of Dien Ban town still have a lot of room for urban development. Coming together, the expansion of the urban space of Da Nang city (new) needs to be considered to spread to the suburbs so as not to put pressure on the already dense construction density in the inner city. That is also a lull for the authorities to implement a systematic and scientific drainage system planning, solving the problem of flooding caused by prolonged heavy rain.

Expanding urban areas to the suburbs also helps to disperse traffic flows to the central area, reducing traffic congestion. Expanding urban space development, attracting investment in industry, trade, services - tourism, education, and health will form new residential areas, "anticipating" the increase in mechanical population.

Wherever population comes, development will be stimulated; schools and other utilities will spring up. Water security to serve the essential needs of life, daily activities and production will be better resolved.

Opening more development space for Da Nang (new) is a story that has been mentioned many times in the development orientation after the merger of the two localities, in which many people have seen the strengths of each land.

Some people say that if you choose Da Nang to settle down, why should you live in the suburbs? This mentality is understandable because Da Nang is currently a “livable city” with many convenient infrastructure and services. But in the long run, inner-city residents will face the pressures of a “super city”.

Meanwhile, the great advantage is the convenient connection between Quang Nam and Da Nang at present in terms of transportation via waterways, sea routes, roads, and railways. In the near future, the North-South high-speed railway projects through Da Nang (new), and the urban railway connecting Da Nang - Quang Nam (current) will be formed, which will significantly shorten travel time.

The Vo Chi Cong coastal route is a continuous traffic axis to Da Nang and Quang Ngai. The waterway route has also been transformed with the dredging project of Co Co River; or the dredging project of Truong Giang River (under the Quang Nam Province Integrated Adaptive Development Project) through Duy Xuyen, Thang Binh, Tam Ky and Nui Thanh... when completed, will also "add" another convenience for suburban residents to move to the central area.
