The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that two Ukrainian forces' multiple rocket launchers were targeted with missiles near the settlement of Khrapovshchina.
At the same time, the Russian Defense Ministry added that both launchers were destroyed in the airstrike along with two escort vehicles and 20 Ukrainian soldiers.
The US has supplied Kiev forces with at least 39 HIMARS launchers since Russia began its military campaign in Ukraine. Germany also promised to buy three more launchers for Kiev forces earlier this year.
During the same period, Britain, Norway, France and Germany supplied at least 16 MLRS and MARS II systems - a German-made version of the system - to Kiev forces.
These launchers are typically equipped with GPS-guided GMLRS M30/M31 series missiles, with a range of over 70 km, or MGM-140 ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles with a range of 165 to 300 km depending on the version.
In a separate statement, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that in the attack on a large number of Kiev forces near the settlement of Novye Basy in the Sumy region, they carried out a precision strike using only a single cruise missile.
The attack was carried out within 15 minutes of the target being detected and verified.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the attack destroyed seven trucks, four armored fighting vehicles, nine all-terrain vehicles and left about 80 Ukrainian soldiers dead or wounded.
Recently, the Russian military has demonstrated incredible precision in its strikes against Kiev military positions across Ukraine.
Earlier, on September 3, Russian forces conducted a precision strike on the 179th Joint Training Center of Ukraine in the city of Poltava.
As a result of the attack, about 300 Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers and NATO instructors were killed and wounded.
Recent Russian attacks have caused heavy material and human losses to Ukraine.
