Ms. Diep has 5 sons, and her family is near-poor. At the end of summer 2023, Ms. Diep's fourth son, Nguyen Ngoc An Quy (born 2017), was hit by a motorbike and broke his left leg. He had to undergo two surgeries, a pin and a long-term treatment at the hospital.
Before her child's wound could heal, in August 2024, Ms. Diep received the bad news that she had discovered a uterine tumor and had to be hospitalized for surgery and treatment, which was costly in both money and health.

However, the misfortune did not stop there. On December 10, 2024, her second son, Luan Nguyen Chi Thanh (born in 2011), was hit in the head by a brick falling from the roof and had to be taken to the emergency room in critical condition. Less than two weeks later, on December 20, 2024, tragedy struck again when her three young children, Thanh, Quy and Nguyen Ngoc An Phu (born in 2015), were on their way home from school when they were hit by an out-of-control tractor. The accident left all three children seriously injured and they had to be hospitalized for emergency treatment and long-term treatment. Quy suffered a 10cm head injury, a broken right arm in two parts and a torn biceps; Thanh suffered a torn buttock and knee muscles and multiple injuries on the right side of his body; Phu suffered severe facial injuries with a deep laceration to the bone. The image of the three children lying on the hospital bed, their limbs in casts and their faces bandaged, made anyone who witnessed it unable to hold back their tears.
Currently, Quy is facing the risk of losing his right arm forever, after doctors at Children's Hospital 2 determined that he had severed three nerve roots, C5, C6 and C7. This is the crucial time for surgery to save his arm, but the cost of major surgery exceeds 50 million VND, not to mention transportation and food during treatment. For a family that is exhausted by illness and accidents, this is an unaffordable amount. Her family only has 3 sao of rice fields and sells chickens, but since the day their children had consecutive accidents, Diep and her husband have almost lived in the hospital, no longer able to work or trade. All their capital and assets have been sold to pay for hospital fees. Up to now, life has only been reduced to "hand to mouth" days, relying on the kindness of neighbors.
Ms. Diep's family is in dire need of help from the community during this difficult and unfortunate time.
