(Dan Tri) - In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH) will adjust not to use the method of considering high school transcripts according to 3 semesters, only using the method of considering high school transcripts according to the combination of 3 subjects in grade 12.

MSc. Nguyen Thi Xuan Dung, Director of the Media Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, said that in 2025, the school plans to adjust the method of considering transcripts based on 3 semesters and only use the method of considering transcripts based on a combination of 3 subjects in grade 12.

This adjustment is to ensure the provisions in the draft Circular amending and supplementing a number of articles of the university admission regulations recently announced by the Ministry of Education and Training .

This draft stipulates that when considering admission based on high school transcripts, there must be the results of the second semester of grade 12 so that schools can fully evaluate the learning and training results of students in high school, while at the same time encouraging them to focus on completing and achieving the best results in their final year of school.

At the same time, the school added a method of using the results of the V-SAT university entrance exam for admission consideration.

Specifically, in 2025, the school will apply 4 admission methods including considering the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam; Considering the transcript based on the average score of 3 subjects in grade 12 (the average score of 3 subjects in grade 12 in the admission group must be 18 points or higher); Considering the results of the VSAT 2025 University Entrance Assessment Exam; Considering the results of the 2025 competency assessment exam of Ho Chi Minh City National University.

Previously, some other universities in Ho Chi Minh City also informed about eliminating or reducing enrollment quotas based on academic records.

At Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, in 2025, the school will not use transcript scores in the method of using transcripts combined with specialized competency assessment exams. This method accounts for 30-50% of the target in 2024.

The above plan aims to orient specialized competency assessment exams to become an independent admission method and the percentage of total admission quota will increase to about 40-50%.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade will also reduce the enrollment quota based on the 10th, 11th grade transcripts and the first semester of grade 12 to only 15-20% of the total enrollment quota in 2025.

The school also considers admission based on high school graduation scores at a rate of 50-60% of the total target, equivalent to 2024.

In addition, the school considers direct admission and competency assessment scores of Ho Chi Minh City National University, and this is the first year the school will consider admission based on specialized competency assessment scores of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.
