According to The Times, Dave Brailsford will not participate in the management of MU and will return to his role as Sports Director of Ineos.

Brailsford, known for his "marginal gains" in cycling, resigned as director of the Ineos Grenadiers team when Ratcliffe bought his stake in Manchester United.

The man then took charge of football operations at Old Trafford, trying to make changes at the club.

However, the 2024/25 season turned out to be a disaster after MU finished 15th in the Premier League, lost to Tottenham in the Europa League final, and was not allowed to participate in the European Cup next season.

However, Brailsford is still recognized by the British billionaire for his contribution to improving performance at MU.

The 61-year-old's departure comes at a time when Ineos is cutting back on its sporting commitments.

The Manchester club have also seen a number of changes in their senior management team since Ineos took over.

Dan Ashworth was brought in as director of football but left after just five months in charge. A further 450 staff were made redundant in a sweeping redundancy.
