MU are considering selling Garnacho. |
Mirror reports that MU had previously demanded nearly £60 million for Garnacho, but now the "Red Devils" are likely to lower the price to speed up the deal. MU's current expectation is £50 million.
Back in January, Napoli submitted an offer of around £40 million for the 20-year-old, but it was rejected by Manchester United. Currently, Garnacho is embarking on a "quick and somewhat tense" farewell to the Old Trafford club.
Napoli's sporting director, Giovanni Manna, is expected to meet with Manchester United officials this week to begin negotiations.
Garnacho was absent from Manchester United's 2-0 win against Aston Villa in the final round of the Premier League. However, he still joined the Red Devils on their pre-season tour of Malaysia and Hong Kong (China) this month.
Garnacho started 10 of 14 Europa League matches, scoring 1 goal and providing 4 assists. However, being benched in the final against Tottenham left Garnacho feeling undervalued.
According to the BBC , manager Ruben Amorim also agreed to let Garnacho leave so he could reinvest in a more suitable player.
Napoli are strengthening their squad with players from the Premier League, following their success with the trio of Scott McTominay, Romelu Lukaku, and Billy Gilmour last summer. In addition to Garnacho, the Serie A champions are also looking to sign Kevin de Bruyne.
