More high schools have to let students stay home

In general education, according to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training on the morning of September 11, the entire city had 126 schools temporarily suspending in-person learning due to the impact of heavy rain, an increase from 117 schools on September 10. If the weather continues to be complicated and there is heavy rain, it is predicted that the number of schools that will have to suspend in-person learning will be even higher.

In Ba Dinh district, due to the impact of heavy rain, schools in Phuc Xa ward located outside the Red River dike, including Nghia Dung Primary School and Phuc Xa Secondary School, have switched to online teaching; some kindergartens have had to temporarily stop receiving children.

In Ba Vi district, in addition to the two primary and secondary schools in Minh Chau island commune that teach completely online, there are a number of schools that have combined in-person and online teaching...

Faced with the complicated weather conditions, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has requested education and training departments, vocational and continuing education centers, and affiliated schools to review infrastructure and prepare plans to switch to online teaching. Schools need to proactively monitor students’ situations, review each student’s learning tools, and implement online teaching plans as soon as necessary.

In cases where students' families are in difficulty and lack learning equipment, along with synthesizing and having on-site support plans, schools need to flexibly organize learning methods so that students can maintain their studies and limit the impact on the school year schedule.

The Department of Education and Training notes that schools need to check their facilities daily. Only when safety is ensured can they organize in-person teaching.
