This is the result of urgent and serious work and close coordination between the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV), Vietnam Air Traffic Management Corporation (VATM), along with the participation and support of military agencies and related units. Long Thanh is a large-scale infrastructure project of the aviation industry, and at the same time a national key project, bringing long-term strategic benefits, contributing to improving national transport infrastructure and promoting economic development. Therefore, the design of the flight method system for this airport is always prioritized and all resources are focused on to complete it.

Accordingly, Long Thanh International Airport has a total of 68 flight modes (27 SIDs, 33 STARs, 8 IAPs), while Tan Son Nhat Airport has 107 flight modes (73 SIDs, 27 STARs, 7 IAPs). The modes are designed to comply with ICAO standards, meet modern flight management requirements and minimize environmental impacts by optimizing flight trajectories. At the same time, the flight modes also ensure smooth connections between airways in both horizontal and vertical directions. In particular, the flight mode system at Tan Son Nhat retains the existing Point Merge mode, while Long Thanh is designed with the STAR Trombone system to ensure stability and maintain operational efficiency at Tan Son Nhat.
SID and STAR procedures are designed according to RNP 1 (GNSS) regional navigation features, while IAP procedures apply RNP APCH, ILS combined with RNP 1, approach procedures using VOR/DME, RNP APCH, ILS combined with RNP 1 (GNSS). The use of these navigation procedures helps to improve operational efficiency and flight safety. These procedures allow aircraft to land safely in bad weather conditions, reduce fuel consumption and flight time, while optimizing flight paths and increasing air traffic.

In the coming time, these flight methods will be evaluated for accuracy and suitability with the terrain of Long Thanh airport area. The evaluation results will be the basis for completing and announcing the AIP, ensuring that it meets the requirements to put Long Thanh airport into operation on schedule. The issuance of these flight methods marks an important step forward in technical preparation, contributing to realizing the goal of putting Long Thanh airport - a symbol of the strategic vision of Vietnam's aviation industry - into operation.
At the same time, this event also demonstrates the professional capacity, coordination ability and proactive spirit of the Vietnamese civil aviation industry in mastering technology, integrating with the international aviation network, towards sustainable and safe development.
