Launching the photo contest Saigon - New Colors - Photo: Organizing Committee
On the morning of June 6, Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper organized a ceremony to announce the Saigon - New Colors photo contest with the theme "Ho Chi Minh City - Green, modern and developing city".
The Saigon - New Colors photo contest is open to all Vietnamese citizens aged 14 and above. The organizers encourage students, office workers, and photography enthusiasts to participate.
Mr. Nguyen Thai Binh - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper, Head of the Contest Organizing Committee - said that the content of the entries reflects the following themes: Ho Chi Minh City - 50 years of growth and development (constructions, architectural symbols, modern transportation systems); people and the city's rhythm of life (daily life) and the theme of green living.
The judges of the contest include Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper Nguyen Thai Binh, photographer Nguyen A, photographer Ngo Tran Hai An (Quy Coc Tu), photographer Nguyen Tuan Khoi, and head of the Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper photography team Huynh Truong Giang.
Actor Lien Binh Phat takes on the role of ambassador for the contest.

Photographer Ngo Tran Hai An shared that photography techniques only account for 30%, the remaining 70% is about creativity, ideas, emotions, messages and suitability to the theme.
He told young people and students to boldly participate in the contest, not to worry too much or put pressure on the photographers.
He appreciates the works that capture moments and spread the contest's message.

Photographer Tuan Khoi believes that every moment captured through the lens has a special value. Photography not only records images but also tells the story of life through a unique and empathetic perspective.
Regarding the copyright of the contest entries, journalist Huynh Truong Giang said that the organizing committee applies manual methods and also applies AI technology to support the review to minimize the situation of copying or plagiarism of works.
"Works that are overly interventionist or blatantly staged are discouraged and may be disqualified," he added.
The author can make basic edits to color and lighting without changing the nature of the original photo.
The Organizing Committee accepts photos taken in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau . The photos must be single photos, each author can submit a maximum of 5 photos. The deadline for receiving photos is July 31.
The Organizing Committee will award 1 special prize, 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 2 third prizes, 5 consolation prizes, 3 favorite prizes to works with high interaction on social networks. Of which, the special prize is worth 50 million VND.
The award ceremony and exhibition are expected to take place in September 2025.
