On the morning of June 6, at the Academy of Journalism and Communication ( Hanoi ), a "Meeting with experts and press officers who have studied in Cuba" took place.

The event was organized by the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Academy of Journalism and Communication to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Cuba diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960 - December 2, 2025), and also to mark the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes affirmed that President Ho Chi Minh made important contributions to promoting anti-colonial and anti-imperialist ideologies, promoting socialist ideals, and contributing to the cause of liberation, unification and reconstruction of Vietnam.

“Cuba has devoted its entire media system to supporting the liberation of the Vietnamese people, to spreading the truth and raising global awareness of the genocide caused by imperialism. Among them, Radio Habana Cuba and Prensa Latina have become representative voices of Vietnam’s heroic resistance spirit, while helping press agencies such as the Vietnam News Agency and the Voice of Vietnam significantly expand their coverage,” the ambassador shared.

On the side of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Chairman Le Quoc Minh said that the image of leader Fidel Castro raising the flag of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam on Hill 241 (Quang Tri) in 1973 is not only a beautiful symbol, but also an image imbued with Vietnamese journalism.

“Since 1961, thousands of Vietnamese students and cadres have studied and grown up in Cuba and then returned to contribute to the country and the Vietnamese revolution. Their return brought with them new knowledge and professional experience, thereby making important contributions to the remarkable development of the country's journalism,” he said.
