Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nguyen's family in Tan Viet village, Quy Mong commune has more than 6,000 square meters of forest land where cinnamon trees are grown for more than 7 years. It is estimated that in 3 to 5 years, these cinnamon trees will bring his family 400 to 500 million VND. However, Mr. Nguyen and his family members discussed and agreed to let the State reclaim all of this land area to build a resettlement area, ensuring the project's progress as scheduled.

Mr. Nguyen said: On the reclaimed land area, the family still harvests an average of 40 to 50 million VND annually from pruning cinnamon trees, and if left for a few more years, they will harvest several hundred million VND. However, for the development of the country and the homeland, the family members also highly agree and agree to hand over the land as soon as possible so that the State can carry out the project on schedule.

Similar to Mr. Nguyen's household, Mr. Tran Le Duy's household in Quyet Thang village, Quy Mong commune also has nearly 1,500 square meters of land for growing two rice crops in the area of ​​land that must be recovered to carry out the Project's items.

Mr. Duy said: His family's main source of income is from rice cultivation, now that almost all of the farmland has to be reclaimed, his family will certainly face certain difficulties in the coming time. However, after listening to the propaganda, he and his family members also understand the policy and significance of this railway line. In addition, the State also offers reasonable compensation and support prices, so his family does not have any concerns or problems in reclaiming land to implement the Project.

According to calculations, the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway route, the section passing through Lao Cai province, is over 143km long, passing through 12 communes and wards. The total area of ​​land recovered is nearly 1,300ha. Of the 6,538 affected households, about 1,659 households need to be resettled; 41 projects operating in Dong Pho Moi Industrial Park must be relocated to serve the construction of the new Lao Cai station.

Among dozens of households in the village affected by the Project implementation, there are cases of families with up to 5 generations including grandparents, parents, children and grandchildren who had to reclaim 100% of their residential land and agricultural land. However, during the propaganda and mobilization process, these households all had a very high consensus. The households only wish for the Party and the State to arrange stable resettlement so that people can feel secure in working and producing - said Mr. Cao Viet Thang, Head of Lien Hiep residential group, Au Lau ward, Lao Cai province.

In particular, for the 48 households in the village affected by the construction of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line, right at the first meeting, these households all signed a consensus with the compensation level of the State and had no further comments. The households all hope that after the completion of this railway line, it will create many opportunities and jobs, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people.
