The event opened up a colorful space, honoring the unique gardening tradition of the locality, and at the same time creating an important boost for Tich Giang to affirm its position as the "capital of flowers and ornamental plants" in the heart of Xu Doai.
Excited visitors' footsteps to Tich Giang

From early morning, the roads leading to Phuc Tho commune were bustling with people and vehicles. Long rows of flower stalls, carefully tended gardens, and eye-catching flower roads and check-in miniatures made the festival space even more vibrant.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu, a flower grower in Tich Giang 2 village, excitedly said that her family is cultivating about 1 hectare of many types of flowers, ornamental plants, and construction plants, especially flowers serving the year-end market, such as: marigolds, four-season chrysanthemums, lucky bamboo, gerbera, crystal chrysanthemums, diamonds...
To prepare for the Tet market, her family grows tens of thousands of pots of each type to meet market demand. This year, input and labor costs have not fluctuated much, so flower prices are also stable. In addition to home production, households in the commune have linked up with the Gardening Association and the Flower Growing Association to support each other, and also imported some more varieties to diversify the products on display," Ms. Thu shared.

Among the happy crowd, Ms. Duong Thi Thanh Thuy, Long Xuyen village, Phuc Tho commune said: “The scale of the Festival is very large, the flower street is very beautiful, the decorative miniatures are eye-catching. I really like the hanging flowers of Tich Giang, because the colors are durable, can be played for a long time, even until Tet. After looking at the stalls, I bought a few flower pots to put at home.”

Mr. Nguyen The Tai (Tung Thien ward) spent a lot of time choosing primroses: "This year the scale is much larger, the flowers are diverse, the gardeners take good care of them. I chose 4 pots, the price is a bit higher, but the quality is very good."
The festival not only offers shopping opportunities, but also helps visitors immerse themselves in the unique cultural space of the countryside along the Tich River - where the flower and ornamental plant growing profession has existed for decades and has become the pride of the people.
The Tich Giang Flower and Ornamental Plants Village Festival will take place for 1 month (from December 6, 2025 to January 6, 2026), gathering the participation of hundreds of gardeners, thousands of varieties of traditional and artistic flowers and ornamental plants. Not only is it a cultural festival, it is also an opportunity for the locality to reposition its brand, expand its market, attract investment and create more stable jobs for the people.

The vibrant colors of flowers, the cheerful spirit of the people and tourists, and the correct development orientation of the government are creating a new momentum for the land of Tich Giang. From traditional occupations, the people here are gradually building a modern and sustainable agricultural economic model, contributing to enriching their homeland and contributing to the overall development of the capital's agriculture.
Affirming the craft village brand
According to Chairman of the People’s Committee of Phuc Tho Commune Kieu Trong Sy, Phuc Tho has long been known as the ancient land of Xu Doai, rich in revolutionary and cultural traditions. Among them, Tich Giang stands out as a unique craft area, considered a “living museum” of gardening art.

Since the 1990s, the fields along the Tich River have been filled with the sounds of pruning shears, buds being pinched, and the chatter of artisans. In the memories of many people, Mr. Do Xuan - the first person to successfully hybridize the Tich Giang tangerine variety - is a symbol of creative labor. The tangerine variety has a distinctive sweet and aromatic flavor, helping many households escape poverty and opening up a new direction for the local economy.

Veteran artisans such as Nguyen Van Uoc and Nguyen Tien Cat have laid the foundation for Tich Giang to become the cradle of flower growing, bonsai and ornamental plants. Today, the next generation continues and develops the profession more strongly with hundreds of hectares of flowers covering the fields, many businesses and cooperatives have risen to affirm their brands.
Prominent names such as Ngoc Trang Company of Mr. Khuat Van Hong or artisans Ha Dat Uy, Nguyen Tien Quang, Kieu Binh Thanh... have contributed to bringing Tich Giang's flower and ornamental plant products to appear at many large fairs and exhibitions inside and outside the city, becoming the pride of Phuc Tho homeland.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Tho Commune Kieu Trong Sy affirmed that this Festival is an important milestone in the strategy of developing craft villages. Over the years, the commune has focused on planning production areas, investing in infrastructure, encouraging farmers to apply science and technology and innovate farming methods. Thanks to that, the previously purely agricultural fields have become ecological areas of flowers and ornamental plants, bringing in high income.

Mr. Kieu Trong Sy emphasized that the Festival aims at 3 strategic goals, which are to honor artisans and farmers who have been attached to the profession for many generations - those who have "breathed life" into the land to create the Tich Giang brand today. Besides, it creates a trading space between flower growers, businesses, and tourists; bringing OCOP products, Phuc Tho's key agricultural products to a larger market. The event also aims to build a green - clean - sustainable agricultural model, combining village experience tourism, preserving indigenous culture and creating added value for the people.

Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Dinh Hoa assessed that the development orientation of Phuc Tho commune is very suitable with the trend of Hanoi - building ecological agriculture, linking production with tourism and urban areas. The city has issued many policies to support craft villages, such as training skilled workers, supporting artisans, connecting raw material areas and promoting trade.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoa hopes that Tich Giang will soon complete the concentrated production area, develop the flower and ornamental plant value chain, and at the same time become an attractive destination on Hanoi's tourist map.
The first year of the festival is not only a cultural meeting point, but also a strong affirmation: Tich Giang - the peaceful land along the Tich River continues to shine as the "capital of flowers and ornamental plants" of Hanoi in its new journey.
