Muong Khuong: Found the body of a victim swept away by flood

The body was found at the foot of Ta Lam waterfall in Ma Tuyen residential group, Muong Khuong town, Muong Khuong district, more than 2 km from the area where the victim was swept away by floodwaters.

According to information from the People's Committee of Muong Khuong town, at around 12:30 p.m. on June 11, authorities found the body of victim Vuong Duc Hung (born in 1994, residing in Na Khui residential group, Muong Khuong town) - who was swept away by floodwaters at noon on June 8.

Accordingly, the victim's body was found at the foot of Ta Lam waterfall in Ma Tuyen residential group, Muong Khuong town (bordering Thanh Binh commune).

As reported by Lao Cai Newspaper, at 12 noon on June 8, Mr. Vuong Duc Hung and his brother went to the stream to collect rice seedlings and unfortunately slipped and fell, and were swept away by the flood. Immediately upon receiving the news, the People's Committee of Muong Khuong district mobilized nearly 200 people from various functional forces to organize a search and rescue, along with requesting the authorities of Nam Chay and Thanh Binh communes to coordinate in searching for the victims. However, the search for the victims was very difficult due to the steep streambed, fast-flowing floodwaters and limited visibility.

Immediately after finding the victim's body, the authorities completed the procedures to hand it over to the family for burial.
