To develop tourism , Mr. Dang Xuan Cuong, a Dao Tien ethnic group in Khau Trang village, has taken advantage of the potential of climate, weather, and land to plant pear trees, a cold-weather tree, on more than 2 hectares of his family's garden. After more than ten years, his pear garden not only yields dozens of tons of fruit each year but is also the most popular tourist attraction in Hong Thai commune. Every year during the flower season, his family's pear garden attracts tens of thousands of visitors from all over the country to check in and see the pear blossoms, with ticket sales reaching over 100 million VND/year.
Currently, his family is investing in opening more Homestay services to serve tourists when they come to Hong Thai commune for sightseeing and relaxation. From the model of developing garden economy associated with developing tourism services of Mr. Cuong, up to now, many families in Hong Thai commune have invested in growing pears, flowers, renovating and refurbishing houses to do tourism business. Contributing to making Hong Thai commune one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Tuyen Quang province.
Since young Party member Ban Van Chanh took the position of Party cell secretary and village chief of Pac Cung village, Thuong Nong commune has been breathed new life. The first thing he did was to mobilize people to take advantage of the State's cement support to concretize traffic routes, strengthen the canal system, and increase the rice land area from one crop to two crops per year; mobilize people to utilize grasslands to develop livestock farming, especially developing buffalo and cow farming and expanding the Shan tea growing area to turn the village's Shan tea products into commodities.

When the National Target Programs for Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas were implemented in the village, in addition to the support of the State, Mr. Chanh mobilized people to contribute their efforts and money to build schools, roads, canals, invest in livestock and crop development... Thanks to that, the lives of 49 ethnic minority households in Pac Cung have changed significantly. Now every family has a solid house, a TV, a motorbike and essential living facilities. There are no more children dropping out of school in the village. Backward customs have been gradually eliminated...
Taking advantage of the natural water resources at Na Hang - Lam Binh Ecological Lake, in 2020, Ms. Hoang Thi Thanh Binh, Director of Na Hang Aquaculture Cooperative, discussed with her husband, Mr. Trinh Van Ha, to establish an Aquaculture Cooperative. With the support of preferential interest rate loans, the couple invested in solid cage frames and expanded their cage fish farming model. Ms. Binh shared: "For those who are just starting a business like my husband and I, there are still many difficulties, but the State's policies for ethnic minorities are a solid foundation for my husband and I to develop the economy. From the loan, I used it to repair fish cages, buy food, and fish fry to expand the scale of farming. Currently, we are maintaining about 150 fish cages, mainly raising catfish, red tilapia, kumquat flowers... Fish output in 2023 will reach over 30 tons, revenue will be over 4 billion VND and create jobs for over 10 local workers".
Cage fish farming model of Na Hang Aquatic Cooperative brings high economic efficiency
Seeing the good development of aquaculture, in 2024, Na Hang Aquaculture Cooperative is continuing to borrow capital to expand the model downstream of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant to develop cold-water fish such as Sturgeon and Salmon, with a scale of over 50 solid cages. It is expected that in 2024, the cooperative's fish output will increase to 100 tons; estimated revenue will reach about 9 billion VND and create jobs for 15 workers with an income of about 6 million VND/month. In addition to cage fish farming, Ms. Binh's cooperative is also expanding its tourism services to serve tourists visiting Na Hang district.
In the period of 2019-2024, Na Hang district has effectively deployed and implemented the policies of the Central Government and the province to support socio-economic development, promote poverty reduction, and build new rural areas in ethnic minority areas. Typically, the implementation of the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, the National Target Program on New Rural Construction... There have been many typical examples of ethnic minorities taking the lead in propaganda work, mobilizing the masses to actively respond and participate in implementing the programs.

The rural appearance of ethnic minority areas in the district has improved a lot. Over the past 5 years, ethnic minorities in the district have contributed resources to build new rural areas with an estimated value of nearly 88 billion VND. The poverty rate of the district according to the poverty standard for the period 2016 - 2020 decreased by 4.12%/year; according to the multidimensional poverty standard for the period 2021 - 2025, it decreased by an average of 9%/year.
