Nam Dong successfully organized the 1st Commune Party Congress

The Congress took place under the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development" with the participation of 200 official delegates. Attending the Congress were comrade Le Trong Yen, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments, branches and localities.

Nam Dong commune was established under Resolution No. 1671/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated June 16, 2025 on the basis of arranging the entire natural area and population of Nam Dong and Dak D'rong communes (belonging to Cu Jut district before the arrangement of administrative units).

The commune has a natural area of 104.04 km² with a population of more than 35,700 people belonging to 20 ethnic groups. The commune Party Committee has 921 party members, including 416 ethnic minority comrades.

During the 2020 - 2025 term, the Nam Dong Commune Party Committee has promoted the spirit of solidarity and innovation, leading the successful implementation of most socio -economic targets. The economic structure has shifted in the right direction, with an average income of 62.6 million VND/person/year.

The commune has completed 19/19 new rural criteria. The poverty rate has decreased by 1.25% per year. Social security has been ensured, security and order have been maintained. Nam Dong is a locality with a tradition of solidarity and hard work. However, Nam Dong also faces many difficulties such as unsynchronized infrastructure, uneven educational level, fragmented agriculture and the impact of climate change.

Along with that is strengthening resource management, environmental protection and maintaining national defense and security.
