(Dan Tri) - Becoming an IELTS teacher since his second year of university, Ha Tuan An did not let himself get too caught up in work, trying to maintain a GPA of 3.84/4.0.
Ha Tuan An (born 2004, Hanoi) is currently studying International Marketing Communications at the Diplomatic Academy. Previously, the male student passed the university entrance exam with an early admission score of 36. Unlike many other students, Tuan An started working when he was a freshman. Instead of spending time studying only on books, he chose to hone his skills from practical knowledge.
From good history student to IELTS teacher
Originally a student at Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted ( Hanoi ), Tuan An had the opportunity to join the National Excellent Student Team in History in grade 11. Tuan An's love and passion for history began to grow from a young age, when his father bought him many good books such as World Civilizations , Vietnamese Dynasties ... That passion for history developed over the years and became the motivation for the boy to choose and stick with it throughout his high school years. The "pillow" books were the foundation that helped Tuan An learn and absorb knowledge more quickly. Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Tuan An said: "For me, history is the clearest mirror reflecting current behaviors and actions. When studying history, I learned more details about the finances, culture and social behavior of each country. Therefore, studying history has helped me have an overview of most areas of life, creating a foundation for me to absorb multidisciplinary knowledge more easily."

With his tireless efforts, the boy born in 2004 won the second prize in the City's History Competition for Excellent Students in grade 11 and became the leader of the history speaker group of the Highschool Help Kit project. With good foreign language skills and an IELTS certificate of 7.5, Tuan An soon found himself a stable job as a freshman. Becoming an English teaching assistant, the male student had many interesting experiences. Tuan An confided: "English tutoring is the first job in my life. It came to me by chance through a family member's introduction. I started working as a teaching assistant and gradually gained more pedagogical and professional skills to gradually try my hand at higher positions such as English tutor or currently IELTS test prep teacher. Becoming a part-time teacher helped me gain many valuable experiences, how to motivate students, analytical skills, evaluate progress as well as resolve conflicts in the classroom."
Don't let work affect your academic performance.
Being an independent person and wanting to gain experience early, Tuan An chose to work as a freshman. Before entering university, the Diplomatic student had made a specific plan for his future in the next 2-5 years. Tuan An believes that in order to achieve that, work experience and professional knowledge are the best launching pads to help the second-year student complete his pre-set goals. When sharing his plans and projects with his family, Tuan An was fortunate to receive their agreement and support. His parents only had one request: to ensure his results in class and always put his studies first. For most young people today, balancing life and study while doing many jobs at the same time is very difficult. Time management skills are the key factor that helps Tuan An complete his work on time while still ensuring quality. First, Tuan An often uses tools such as Google Calendar, Notion... to clearly identify the tasks that need to be done during the day as well as arrange his schedule reasonably. Besides, Tuan An often has the viewpoint of "each job at the right time" so he will not let any work at the company spread to afternoon classes or tutor English in the evening. According to Tuan An, entering the labor market early helps young people have the opportunity to interact, learn, make mistakes and correct them before having an official job later. Practical experiences will be a solid foundation to help students avoid confusion and difficulty integrating, and at the same time identify their strengths and weaknesses to orient their career appropriately in the future. However, going to work early also makes the Diplomatic student have to make many trade-offs. Working multiple jobs at the same time while still maintaining his studies at school is a harsh challenge for those who do not have enough physical and mental health. Besides, going to work early means sacrificing a lot of personal time for work. Instead of spending time with family, hanging out with friends and enjoying the best years at university, the laptop has become an inseparable item for Tuan An.
Opportunity to work at large domestic corporations
Over the past two years, Tuan An has had experience in many jobs, but perhaps becoming a marketing intern at Viettel Telecom is what makes him proud and leaves him with the most profound memories. During more than 6 months of internship here, the Diplomatic student had the opportunity to learn and accumulate knowledge from leading experts in the fields of telecommunications and marketing. In particular, Tuan An attended many important meetings with major partners such as Google, Rang Dong... or participated in discussions with leaders of multinational corporations such as the director of Microsoft Asia - Pacific region. "Going for a specialized internship right from the first year made me have to make a lot of effort to ensure the quality of the assigned work. For me, adapting here is not only meeting professional requirements but also adapting to the working environment, corporate personnel and working methods," Tuan An added.

When working in a highly professional environment, Tuan An learned to adapt quickly by asking for feedback from his seniors about the good and bad points. In addition, the male student often proactively learns about the company as well as confides in the difficulties in the working process to improve and understand the operating process, corporate culture and complete the tasks assigned by superiors well. However, Tuan An admits that he is only a second-year student and still has many gaps in professional knowledge. In the near future, the male Diplomatic student will focus on learning in-depth knowledge of marketing, developing soft skills and looking for job opportunities at the desired businesses. In addition, Tuan An continues to work as an IELTS teacher to help himself be financially independent as well as pay for expenses with the money he earns.
