Male student of Quoc Hoc Hue School won the cinnamon wreath of Road to Olympia 2024

The 4 contestants participating in the final round of Road to Olympia 2024 include: Tran Trung Kien (student of Le Hong Phong High School, Phu Yen ) won the first quarter with 235 points; Nguyen Quoc Nhat Minh (student of Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Gia Lai) won the second quarter with 250 points; Vo Quang Phu Duc (student of Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted, Thua Thien - Hue) won the third quarter with 185 points; Nguyen Nguyen Phu (student of Hanoi National University of Education High School for the Gifted, Hanoi) won the fourth quarter with 215 points.

All four students performed excellently, making the final of the 24th Road to Olympia a thrilling affair until the last minutes. In the Finish Line round, Phu Duc, who had the highest score, was the first to “Finish Line”. The male student majoring in Quoc Hoc chose three questions, each worth 20 points.

The first question asked about the names of four Vietnamese missile frigates, and Duc gave the answer in the first few seconds, “Dinh Tien Hoang, Ly Thai To, Quang Trung and Tran Hung Dao”. He won 20 points for this question. In the second question in the field of Mathematics, although Phu had the right to answer, he did not answer correctly. However, since no contestant rang the bell, Duc did not lose any points.

The last question in Phu Duc’s package asked about the name of a tree in a poem by Tran Dang Khoa. The male student answered right from the first seconds, then changed his answer but was still incorrect. Nguyen Phu rang the bell, answered “storm tree” and won 20 points from Phu Duc’s package. At the end of his round, Phu Duc still had 235 points.

However, Nguyen Phu continued to chase closely. At the last question of the final round in the field of Mathematics. Nguyen Phu knelt down to press the bell faster, in case Minh could not answer. Phu was only 20 points behind Duc, if he could answer this question, he would be the champion. However, Phu Duc was quicker to press the bell to gain the right to answer. Although he could not answer correctly, with 220 points, Phu Duc was still officially the champion of Olympia for the 24th year. Nguyen Phu came in second with 215 points, Trung Kien 145 points, Nhat Minh 65 points.
