The project “Give me the future” has been implemented by the Lang Son City Live Blood Bank Club since 2022. The project aims to mobilize resources to support students in especially difficult circumstances, orphans, those with serious illnesses, homeless, and single-parent families. The project’s activities are deeply humane, contributing to supporting students on their journey to conquer knowledge, opening up hope for a bright future.
Mr. Trieu Gia Trong, Head of the Lang Son City Live Blood Bank Club, shared: “I work in the police force, often travel to many places and come into contact with many students in difficult circumstances, lacking basic conditions to continue going to school. Based on that reality, I cherished the idea of implementing practical, long-term support activities so that children are not left behind. After a period of research, I started implementing the project “Giving Children the Future.”
To ensure support for the right people, the club members work closely with the Red Cross, Youth Union, Women's Union, school principals, etc. These units understand each specific case, which is the basis for the club to make a list of students in need of help. After that, the club proactively connects with benefactors inside and outside the province to seek support.
Accordingly, the club members have actively mobilized from their personal and organizational relationships, and at the same time utilized social networks to spread information. Specific situations are widely shared via the club's Facebook and fanpage, contributing to strongly connecting the loving community.
When there are benefactors who register to participate, the Club will prioritize introducing especially difficult cases to receive support first. Benefactors are also given the opportunity to visit the students to understand their circumstances, thoughts and aspirations, thereby establishing a close relationship between the sponsors and the students. Thanks to transparent, clear and practically effective activities, the project has built trust with benefactors.
After more than two years of implementation, the project "Giving Children the Future" has supported 26 students in the province. Each month, the students will receive support from 300,000 to 500,000 VND/person/month depending on their circumstances. In addition, sponsors also have gifts including necessities, clothes, school supplies, etc. to give to students participating in the project on the occasion of the new school year, Children's Day, Lunar New Year, etc. The project's activities not only provide material support, but also provide a solid spiritual support, helping students overcome difficulties to nurture their dreams of studying. According to the project's operating mechanism, the support is not given directly to students but through the school board to manage and use for the right purpose. The school will allocate this money to buy books, learning equipment, necessities or support daily living for the students.
Hoang Thi Kim Oanh, a 6th grader at Huu Kien Ethnic Boarding Secondary School (Chi Lang District), is one of the students receiving support from the project. She has a congenital disability, her mother is not conscious, and her biological father is unknown. She and her mother live with her 73-year-old grandmother, and the family does not have a stable income. Knowing her situation, from April 2025, two benefactors have pledged to support her with 300,000 VND per month for one school year. With this money, she can buy more food, books, and other necessary items for her studies and daily life.
The project “Give me the future” not only provides material support but also helps students in difficult circumstances feel the love and sharing from the community. That has given them more faith in life and motivation to strive to rise up. In the coming time, the Club will continue to promote connection activities, mobilize more participation from organizations and individuals to expand the scale of the project, support more students and attract the participation of parents and students as companions, sharing with students in more difficult circumstances than themselves.
