Improve the effectiveness of supervision and social criticism of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations

According to the report presented at the workshop, over the past 10 years, the Fatherland Front and socio -political organizations of Lao Cai city have organized 356 thematic, regular and planned supervisions at 201 units, with 276 important opinions proposed for direction and resolution by the Party Committee and the government; organized 56 social criticism conferences with 276 opinions contributing to programs, projects, and socio-economic development plans, building cultural houses and small parks to serve the people in the city.

The supervision of leaders has also been focused on with 40 sessions, including supervision of 40 leaders and 20 key officials in agencies, units, communes and wards. Thereby, helping the Party Committee and the government promptly resolve difficulties, problems and concerns among the people; adjust, supplement and perfect legal mechanisms and policies in accordance with the legitimate interests and aspirations of the people.

Comrade Doan Ngoc Tuyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of Lao Cai City Party Committee delivered the opening speech at the workshop.

However, the supervision and social criticism work of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in Lao Cai city still has shortcomings and limitations such as: The supervision work is sometimes not proactive, not rich in content in all fields, especially in the field of land and urban management; the number of supervisions is not many, especially supervision of leaders; the social criticism work, especially criticism of socio -economic development projects and plans, and works is still weak in terms of content, number of meetings and implementation methods. The work of consolidating, arranging and perfecting the commune-level people's inspection boards and the community investment supervision boards in residential areas is sometimes and in some places not timely. The coordination of the People's Councils and People's Committees at all levels in providing information, construction works, projects, and socio-economic development plans is not timely and complete...

The workshop received 26 presentations from agencies and units, of which 8 were selected to speak, directly proposing many positive solutions, good, creative and effective ways of doing things to continue to innovate content, improve the quality and effectiveness of supervision and social criticism of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in the city.

The opinions presented at the workshop focused on solutions to improve the effectiveness of supervision in construction of investment projects using state budget sources; resolving voters' opinions and recommendations; improving the quality of activities of the People's Inspection Committee and the Community Investment Supervision Committee...

Leaders of Lao Cai City Party Committee spoke about some solutions to improve the effectiveness of supervision and social criticism of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations.

The workshop helped Lao Cai City Party Committee to further assess the results achieved, point out the limitations and shortcomings, clarify the causes, draw lessons and supplement solutions for leading social supervision and criticism activities in the coming time. At the same time, it was also an opportunity for Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in communes and wards to study, exchange and learn experiences in leadership and direction to improve the quality and effectiveness of social supervision and criticism work in each commune and ward in the following years.
