Mikhail Razvozhaev, the governor of the Crimean port city of Sevastopol, confirmed the attack. However, he asserted that the attack from Ukrainian suicide boats had been repelled.

According to Governor Razvozhaev, immediately after the discovery of the Ukrainian suicide boats, the anti-submarine defense system at the Sevastopol naval port was activated, thereby blowing up at least one unmanned boat. The other one was also destroyed.

At the scene, the pressure from the explosions caused minor damage to many buildings in the Sevastopol port area. However, Mr. Razvozhaev stated that no Russian Navy warships were damaged after the Ukrainian attack.

According to Defense Express , modern warships capable of carrying Kalibr cruise missiles of the Russian army have been anchored in safe positions deep inside the Sevastopol military port. The composition of the 68th Coastal Brigade only includes light corvettes.

Ukraine has not yet commented on the above information.

Recently, the Ukrainian Navy has repeatedly used suicide boats to attack the Sevastopol military port, thereby keeping Russian forces on the Crimean peninsula on high alert.

With its aerodynamic design, the suicide boat can move quickly on the water and avoid the surveillance of enemy radars. Extremely sensitive antennas allow the Ukrainian unmanned speedboat to be controlled from a distance by radio waves or through a connection to the Starlink satellite system. At the bow of the boat are two sensors, allowing the warhead to detonate when colliding with an enemy surface target.

In terms of technical specifications, the Ukrainian suicide boat is 5.5m long, weighs up to 1000kg and has an operating radius of about 400km. The maximum speed of this device is 80km/h and can operate continuously for 60 hours. The Ukrainian suicide boat is equipped with 3 cameras and a satellite navigation system, images and radio waves, allowing it to attack enemy targets accurately.

However, experts say that Ukraine’s suicide boat squadron can only cause initial difficulties for the Black Sea Fleet. To be able to regain this strategic sea area, Ukraine needs more support from more powerful and reliable offensive weapons.
