Russia uses powerful bomb FAB-250-M62, stopping Ukraine's advance

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have come under heavy Russian airstrikes in the village of Velyka Novosyolka. This village is located in the territory of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic. According to preliminary information released to the public, at least three powerful explosions were recorded in the area of ​​​​Velyka Novosyolka. At the same time, no airstrike warnings were heard in the area. This suggests that high-precision bombs FAB-250-M62 were used. Such bombs are capable of hitting targets at long distances and can be used to destroy enemy military infrastructure.

Velyka Novosyolka is an important settlement for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south of Donetsk. From here, the Ukrainian army is trying to break through in the direction of the Vremievsky promontory with the aim of concentrating its forces near Staromayorsky and Urozhayny.

So far, the fighting in this direction is still considered one of the hottest as the Ukrainian army is trying to reach the border area.

The FAB-250-M62 high-precision bomb was used by Russia in an airstrike on the village of Velyka Novosyolka.

Earlier, on August 5, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that Russian forces had taken control of the village of Novoselovskoe in the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic. According to the ministry, during the offensive on a wide front, Russian forces "improved the situation" along the front in the Kharkiv region. During the day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 140 soldiers in the Kupyansk region.

Two armored fighting vehicles, three cars, a Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery system as well as D-20 and Msta-B guns were destroyed.

On August 4, the Russian Defense Ministry also reported that the Russian military repelled four attacks by units of the 14th Mechanized Brigade and the 25th Airborne Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Novoselovskoe area.

The battle for the village has been going on for several months. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have held out on two roads to the west of the ruined village. Ukrainian forces have been pushed back from the settlement but still control the high ground south of Novoselovskoe. Fighting is still ongoing in this area.

Novoselovskoe is located on the Kupyansk-Svatovo highway and ensures Russian control over the Kuzemovka station. The Ukrainian Armed Forces planned to advance along this road deep into the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic last year, after Russia withdrew its troops from the Kharkiv region. Russian units are now regularly winning victories in the area.

Fighting is still fierce on many fronts.

While Kiev concentrated its main forces on the Zaporozhye frontline to prepare for a counteroffensive, the Russian army launched attacks from different directions on the northern Donbass frontline. As a result, the Ukrainian army was distracted and forced to transfer additional forces to other frontlines.
