Banks launch a series of cashless payment incentives
On April 13, BIDV launched the BIDV 68 card duo at Ben Thanh metro station, and offered unlimited free rides on the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien route, Saigon River water bus, and visits to the Ho Chi Minh City museum when customers use BIDV Mastercard for cashless payments, applicable from now until June 30.
Ms. Pham Phuong Lan - Deputy Head of BIDV Retail Banking - said that the unlimited free trips on the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line aims to contribute to improving the public transport experience, helping people access a more modern and convenient cashless payment method.
Ben Thanh Metro Station is an important traffic hub and a new symbol of Ho Chi Minh City. According to Ms. Van Thi Huu Tam - Deputy Director of Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HURC1), the metro system has brought about great changes to people's lives such as reducing traffic congestion, moving towards sustainable green transportation, reducing emissions to protect the environment and promoting modern economic and urban development.
After nearly 4 months, the Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro line has been put into operation, metro passengers have a variety of cashless payment options, such as using NAPAS cards, Mastercard cards or scanning QR codes with MOMO e-wallet accounts to pay at the ticket gate, very convenient, fast and safe.
Many banks join the race to issue metro payment cards
Many banks have joined the race to issue metro payment cards such as: Vikki Bank cooperated with international card organization MasterCard to issue VikkiGO card. VikkiGO is a set of 3 prepaid cards, debit cards, credit cards launched with the first metro line of Ho Chi Minh City.
Sacombank cooperates with HURC1 and Mastercard to deploy an automatic ticket payment system using Open-loop technology on metro line 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien, allowing customers to tap their cards for cashless payments from all banks and card organizations.
Sacombank also issues the Sacombank Mastercard Metro Pass payment card. With this card, customers can tap the card to make cashless payments when taking the metro as well as use other utilities such as cash withdrawals, money transfers, and consumer shopping payments as usual.
