From November 17 to 20, the railway industry had to cancel 25 trains. At the same time, a series of trains were stuck at stations along the route, affecting more than 2,000 passengers.

The Railway Transport Joint Stock Company has served 5,200 main meals, 4,200 snacks and drinks for free to passengers on trains that are stopping at stations. For trains that have been cancelled or have had their schedules changed, passengers who want to exchange or return their tickets will be supported according to regulations, with a total of 11,000 tickets returned.
Not only passenger transport, freight transport on the North-South route was also seriously affected. Specifically, 6 freight trains were forced to cancel their trips, and 27 freight trains had to stop and wait along the way.
According to preliminary statistics, the railway industry is estimated to have suffered losses due to this flood season of nearly 10 billion VND. Of which, the amount of refunds for 11,000 passengers is about 7.5 billion VND, the cost of serving passengers stuck on trains and at stations is nearly 400 million VND, the loss due to the cancellation of freight trains is 1.6 billion VND...
Vietnam Railways Corporation said that currently, workers and infrastructure managers are on duty 24/7 at key points to check and handle incidents, to ensure absolute safety before resuming train operations.
