Banking sector donates 19 billion VND to support social security in 3 Central provinces

The State Bank of Vietnam has donated 19 billion VND to support the three provinces of Quang Tri, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh in carrying out social security activities.

On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, the State Bank of Vietnam donated 7 billion VND to support social security activities in Quang Tri province.

Of which, 4 billion VND was contributed by officers, civil servants and employees of the banking sector with one day's salary to implement the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households and policy families in the area. The remaining 3 billion VND was taken from the Social Security Fund of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union to implement social security programs.

According to Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong, the entire industry has mobilized 82 billion VND, equivalent to building 1,366 new houses, exceeding the set target by 36.6%.

Of which, the State Bank has supported 15 billion VND through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and allocated 67 billion VND directly to 26 provinces and cities.

In addition, units in the banking industry have also supported 1,365 billion VND in funding to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for provinces and cities.

In Ha Tinh province, the State Bank of Vietnam has donated 6 billion VND in social security funds. Of which, 3 billion VND will be used to implement a program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households and families with difficult policies.

In Nghe An province, the State Bank of Vietnam donated 6 billion VND to support the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 (storm Wipha).

“We hope that this support money will help the people of Nghe An province overcome the consequences of the storm, and at the same time support poor households to improve their housing conditions and gradually improve their quality of life,” said Governor Nguyen Thi Hong.
